Jay Kogen has stepped down as executive producer and co-showtunner on the new iteration of the 2007 Nickelodeon comedy. Fellow executive producer/co-showrunner Ali Schouten remains on board; it is unclear whether the series will bring in a new co-showrunner.

 

According to sources, comedy veteran Kogen and iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove did not click creatively, and those creative differences ultimately led to his departure.

Paramount+’s iCarly revival has officially started production in Los Angeles and is eyeing a summer premiere on the premium streaming service.

 

Joining returning original stars Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainorare Single Parents and Florida Girls actress Laci Mosley and Jaidyn Triplett. The announcement was made in conjunction with Nickelodeon’s virtual upfrontpresentation.

 

The 13-episode new season picks up nearly a decade after the final iCarly episode, following Carly Shay (Cosgrove) and her friends navigating work, love and their family in their twenties.

 

Mosley will play Harper, Carly’s roommate and best friend. Triplett plays Millicent, Freddie’s (Kress) snarky and social media-savvy stepdaughter.

First 3 episodes are live, just about to start this.

First 2 episodes are good (not as good as the original but a still got another 11 episodes) kind of off-putting to see Carly and crew talking about kink shaming and the like but I got used to to now. Also love that there is still a decent amount of slapstick humour.
