All for the cause of the movement but when I can the exact frame bloused come out a guys nose, his GF is killing him etc. Probaly the maddest i have ever been leaving a theater because I knew I was robbed of what could of been one of the better suspense in recent memory cause some marketing people needed to spoil it to exploit the racial tension for some sales. Uhh I don't remember spoilers being part of the marketing at all
filmlover
I'm really looking forward to this still but honestly, less than a week away from release, the smell of underperformance is definitely in the air given how quiet the buzz surrounding it is. We'll see what the reviews are like.

ThomasNicole
I don't think it's lacking marketing, it's lacking momentum. Universal is doing a huge anti-spoilers tactic for this, which who knows if it will help the experience while watching, but it's definitely hurting marketing. There's nothing to talk about, nothing really new about it, the whole promotion keeps going in circles. I think it's kinda sad tbh that these days is nearly impossible to sell a movie without giving too much, but to me that's the main issue here. If it gets good reviews maybe it can rebound on the final week, if ended up mixed then yeah, flop incoming.

Nikostar
What time are the reactions tomorrow. Hoping reviews are on par with The Black Phone and Candyman based on what I am hearing. Edited July 17, 2022 by Nikostar

I feel the exact same way. Look the marketing could be a great distraction from a huge reveal. But at this point, I feel like I am being toyed with. The marketing is way too vague, and the whole things looks confusing as well. Again, that could work if there is a lot of meat on the bone with the actual story. I just get this feeling the whole thing is gonna underwhelm across the board: critically, audience reaction, and box office.
Mojoguy
My floppage sense is tingling. Late marketing is going to doom this like it did Thor 4.

Jayhawk the Hutt
I know it essentially means nothing, but Nope is starting out with an 80/100 on Critics Choice. https://www.criticschoice.com/search/?s=nope

harrisonisdead
Feel like "spectacle" and "epic" (as a noun) are some of the most common words being used in reactions. People reacting to it are putting more emphasis on it being "intense" and "thrilling" than being outwardly scary, though seems like it has its fair share of straight horror. A lot of mentions of it being layered, heady, even confusing. Might disappoint people looking for pure horror but when isn't that the case? I'm excited! Jayhawk the Hutt
First batch doesn’t include a lot of out and out critics (esp the big ones) but def seems the late embargo was more about spoilers than any concern about quality. If it’s as good as these folks are saying it is it will have no problem making money.
