Fast 9 International Box Office Thread.

Saw the movie last night (screening by UIP Indonesia). Not a follower of the franchise, so I suspect quite a few references flew past me. The action setpieces were so busy, I got lost keeping track of who's doing what, where, against whom.

A clear setup for the two-parter finale where just about everybody will return.

One mid-credits scene.

Indonesia starts sneak previews today untuk Sunday, some 720+ shows per day (not screens). Tickets selling fast as usual.

Regular shows start Wednesday, looking good to set a new pandemic reopening record.

In current markets

China - $217M

ANZ - $21M

Korea - $20M

Russia - $18M

M.E. - $23M

Indo - $7M

Rest - $7M

Total - $313M

Hobbs and Shaw did $315M in these markets, so about even. In lc$ and admits may be different but I am not diving that much into it.

In other markets, H&S did $270M. Euro and GBP are stronger than they were for H&S, so that should cancel out shut down of most of LATAM. Some markets like India, Philippines may not open in time. Guess it will eventually do $525-550M when all is said and done.

Didn't realised it almost opened in almost all of LATAM, minus Argentina, Peru and Chile.

The total now is $335M out of which 1st phase markets are $303M. The new markets added $32M in OW and will probably close at $70-75M, for a total of $383-388M.

The remaining Europe and Africa (F, G, S, I + N and other small markets) shall add $70-75M.

Then is remaining Asian markets, India, South East Asia, Taiwan and Japan. All these are strong F&F markets. Hobbs and Shaw did $90M in these. India not sure when cinemas open, thinking around $55-60M whenever it releases.

So about $508-533M.

Assuming the above projections hold, and it gross $520M INT and DOM is $180M.

Theatrical revenue will be

DOM - $90M

China - $44M

OS - $121M

WW - $255M

Assuming $50M Net Home Media revenue and $200M SVOD/TV. Overall revenue will be $500M Approx.

Budget per THR is $225M. Add in $150M release cost. Participant and Residuals may be $75M. (Deadline had $52M for H&S and $110M for F7). Now this is a delayed release, so add in one year of interest cost. Usually $200-250M project have ~$25M Interest per Deadline, this delayed by an year must have close to $50-60M atleast, if not more.

This will barely breakeven at $700M worldwide, and may be not if either of costs are more than they are.
