Wel I asked for this I guess...

Cinema's will likely have to close for 2 weeks, so yeah spectre wins I guess. Cinema's are protesting so they might not fully have to close? Still boxoffice will be down alot next 2 weeks.

Damn, what a pity ! The €20M are impossible now for NTTD ? Hopefully it can at least overtake Skyfall and Avatar and move up to 5th place in the biggest movies in the Netherlands.

It all depends on if they will be forced to close. Rules did get more strict so it will be felt. The biggest dangour is if they people pushing for full closure for cinema's win. Next few days wil be important, it it's just less capacity it will be fine to get over skyfall and avatar and €20 might still happen. Also i have no clue what 2 week of full closure would mean (maybe people would just resume in the 3rd week like if no time had passed.

Goodnews is that cinema's aren't forced to close, more strickt COVID rules are in place but unlike restaurants and pubs cultural events have managed to get a pass to the 'closing at 8pm' rule. This might turn out good for cinema's because cultural events / cinema are the only things that are still open after 8pm. This went in to effect sunday I believe.

Quick midweek:

Bond had a very good midweek and so did Dune, bond extened it's lead over it's predecessor by 85k. Dune still keeps it's chances at €6m alive.

Weekend 46: 11-14 November

Well after the goodnews for cinema's not having to close after all (glad the gouverment didn't go for full closure past 8pm) we have some more good news with this weeks holds. Also 11 november isn't an offical holiday in the Netherlands (some regions do celibrate Sint Maarten, thats why those movies saw increases) but this isn't the same as a holiday (most people aren't off from work).

1 No Time to Die  - € 888.373 /€18.398.138 (-13.3%)

2 Alles op tafel - €480.683 / €1.428.876 (+0.4%)

3 Eternals - €462.639 / €1.425.746 (-30%)

4 De Grote Sinterklaasfilm: Trammelant in Spanje €189.226 / €1.094.431 (+33.8%)

5 De Club van Sinterklaas en het Vergeten Pietje €156.141 / €959.534   (+15.4%)

6 Venom 2 - € 150.315 / €1.846.507 (-23.1%)

7 Dune - €148.439 / €5.368.410 (-12.8%)

A very good weekend overall!

Starting with NTTD, it had a very good hold only down 13.3% gaining another €240k over spectre compared week to week. Total through the 7th weekend for NTTD: €18.398.138 vs €16.505.183 for Spectre, meaning NTTD is ahead by €1.893m Starting next week Spectre will have a Chritmas boost that gave it another €2.25m over 2 weeks, NTTD will make 1m this week so using 25% drops NTTD would make €1.312m in the same frame meaning being ahead by 950k after Spectre Christmas boost. Still looking very good for €22m + but I mean one quick desision / worse COVID numbers and this could be total over with, it's very hard for me to predict with these factors. So if no bad news €22m+ is likely.

Alles op tafel (local movie): had a great weekend, increased a bit and is aiming for anything over €2.8m €3.2m+ is likely.

In third we have Eternals, it had a similar drop to BW with a bit of a lower OW, also it doesn't have summer days to weekdays are a lot weaker. Having no competition a 30% drop isn't very good specialy not in ur 2nd weekend. Shang Chi had a drop of only 6% in it's 2nd weekend and also didn't have summer weekdays so a total over €2.5m should happen but realisticly the goal should be €3m (50/50 chance).

Both 4/5th are local movies are about the Saint Nickolas (linked to Saint Maarten celebrated on 11 november) this caused them to increase.

At 6th place we find Venom2 with it's first good hold in it's run, this locks €2m and it's eying a €2.25m finish. Happy that it won't fail to reach €2m because it's first 2 weekend holds were abysmall.

In 7th place we find Dune just like NTTD it had a very good hold, it wil fly pass €5.5m and will flirt with a total of about €6m, €5.7m + locked a 100%.

Lastely know that COVID is pretty out of control atm so anyting can happen, if something happens all predictions go out of the window and we would have to wait and see.

Quick midweek:

NTTD is still having better midweeks than spectre it added another 45k to it's lead.

Weekend 46: 18-21 November

Although covid is still getting worse still no extra restrictions in place. Cinema being one of the only things open after 8pm seems to have a positive effect.

1 No Time to Die  - € 672.296 /€19.254.075 (-24.3%)

2 Alles op tafel - €442.867 / €2.047.826 (-7.9%)

3 Ghostbuster afterlife - €383.601 / €444.534

4 Eternals - €267.691 / €1.425.746 (-42.1%)

5 De Club van Sinterklaas en het Vergeten Pietje €212.994 / €1.215.825   (+36.4%)

7 Dune - €126.329 / €5.539.768 (-14.9%)

Another good weekend overall!

Starting once again with NTTD, after 8 weeks in release still number one at the boxoffice. With a 25% drop it's still on track to break €22m, I expect it to be quite close to or just over €20m by next weekend (around €19.95m). Having a few more weeks till spiderman means it should hold well over the next 3 weeks.

Alles op tafel (local movie): had another amazing weekend only dropping 8% best drop in the top 20. It already passed €2m last week I though €3.2m+ but with drops like these €4m is definitly possible.

Ghostbusters afterlife had a good opening compared to the 2016 version. It opened 63% higher 383k vs 234k, the last one had abysmall legs it's only did 2.8x OW (-previews) and only 2.2x opening week. This one is having much better wom and thus it legs should be at 4x OW or higher. Expecting €2m for now. (The previous one ended at €665k).

In 5th we have the sint movie again increasing another 36.4% (the other sint movie also increased). Expecting it to go strong although the disney animation competition might steal some of it's audience.

In 7th place we find Dune it had the 2nd best hold in the top 20 (not including the Sint/holiday related movies). Dropping only 15%, with a few more free weekends I would say €6m is going to happen maybe a tad bit more. All in all it had very very very good late legs. If not for NTTD this would have been an €8m+ movie to compare this to the domistic boxoffice that would be something like $320m-$350m (around position 55-65 all time).

Lastely know that COVID is pretty out of control atm so anyting can happen, if something happens all predictions go out of the window and we would have to wait and see.

I thought you lived in Belgium @pepsa.

Also, recently got to know about BENLUX countries as term. Should be make this thread for trio.

Yeah I do :) But because of the strange situation in Belgium (having a dutch speaking part, french speaking park and a german speaking part) we get alot of news from the Netherlands here in flanders (the dutch speaking part). Because of that I often get update if something major happens in the neigbouring country (also it's only a 1h ride 😛 )+ the website of the dutch goverment is easly accesable for anybody speaking dutch.

And yeah the benelux is colleboration but honestly I haven't found a good site to find information on the Belgium boxoffice yet and haven't look up one for Luxenbourg.

Yeah Belgium data is limited, I will try to make things work. Thankfully Disney is updating it.

MIdweek for bond: 148k meaning it's weekly total was €820.2k vs the €946k from specte, loosing €126k, next week spectre made €1.3m, expecting NTTD to make €625k loosing €675k more, after that NTTD should atleast match Spectre.

I’m supposed to be spending 3 days in Amsterdam between Christmas and new year, think I’ll just switch it to somewhere else. Sounds like a nightmare just now.

Come to Paris, I can assure you, there will be no more confinement in France.

@pepsa how is COVID lockdown situation in BENLUX.

In the netherlands it's getting better, in luxenburg I have no clue 😛 And in Belgium we reach the worst part but it's only getting better for 2 days (the daily infections) where as in the Netherlands it has been getting better for a week now.  That said the case are declinging faster in Belgium where as the Netherlands is a much more important market for spidey. So it might be very thight for spidey.

Cinema's closed past 5pm atleast till the 2nd week of januari. Very bad news for NWH also very bad news for Bond. Bond will barly pass Spectre whilst under normal non lockdown covid circomstances it would have cleared €23m with ease.
