I really enjoyed the film but it does hammer home the point that the shows that are allowed to become popular on Broadway are chosen by a wealthy and elistist few that can afford the first few months/years of tickets.

Things like Heights and RENT can be sold as "authentic" to these people but once more regular  people get access to these productions the conversation changes.

With the weaker reception than usual I'm thinking 160m is the O/U for F9. AQP2 looks to be on the same finish. For the sake of the industry though I hope they can both stretch a bit further

Yeah, 2.3x legs for F9 sound about right, which translates to about 161M or so. Don't know how late legs for Quiet Place 2 will fare, but I think it can pull out just enough over F9 to make it in the mid 160s.

I think F9 could have some advantage thanks to higher opening. I am not sure if AQP2 can hit 160m since AQP2 is now running very closely to the Meg. Both Meg and AQP2 have $6m in 5th weekend and AQP2 is now less than 5m ahead of the meg at the same point. Meg have final total of 145m, if AQP2 followed the meg from here, the most it can get is around 150m. I don't think summer-midweek number can add another 10m advantage to AQP2 total, unless AQP2 manage to pull some genuine super strong hold like less than 30% drop to make that 160m possible.

Frankly, I won't be able to really care about box office until all markets are back to normal, it's nice if the USA does well (or not, we'll see) but it's only a market among others, it's no longer the time when it was 50+% of the  global BO.

Lost already revealed they are all dead which raises other questions like how did teams from Dharma reached the island in the past and if Ben is alive, which it definitly seems he is (also hinted by the fact that he doesn't heal like the plane crash survivors), does this mean the island is a door between the land of the dead and the living and where both can interact with each other? I am on the brink of finishing season 3, only like 1 or 2 episodes left.
