The Twilight movies have awesome soundtracks at least

I wonder who is watching them. The girls who read them as kids and are grown up and nostalgic or a brand new audience ? I would think Twilight would be something people would look back on in a “ I actually liked that?” Kind of way than nostalgic

The same audience that lead Titanic to make as much as it did. 13 year old girls. You think Marvel or Star Wars fans are intense. They pale in comparison to young girls looking at romance stories with cute guys in it.

I mean, if they liked it a lot back then, is it that much of a reach that they still really like it now?

Nostalgia + Snark factor is a hella of a drug

I noticed this!!  😂  People love to slam these movies, but there continues to be a huge fanbase, apparently!

Twilight reboot incoming?  I'm sure Netflix is talking with Lionsgate right now...

The Edward Twilight book from his POV sold 1 million copies in the US during it's opening week last year.

I always see viral tweets and memes about this franchise still.

Twilight seems to still be very popular.

From my observation the fanbase for it is still going strong because they seem to have grown up and don't care about being mocked for loving the books/films anymore.

I believe the author for the books said she is working on a sequel. I think that book will sell very well too.

I don't see a reboot nor a sequel but if they ever did one I think it could possibly do very well also. Especially on a tv format like Netflix.

problem is Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will no doubt NOT want to return so that puts a damper on any plans to continue that series

Well, umm... I admit that I was now "influenced by the algorithm"...  Netflix has now counted me among the viewership... I've actually never seen any of these!  So I started with the first one...but it took me three nights just to get through it!  😂

If you think 13yo girls made Titanic what it is you....

Titanic is the biggest and one of the most wide appealing film Hollywood ever made. In a very male dominated cinegoing audience in India, Titanic sold 20M tickets.

There are still people thinking Titanic is for young girl? You can't generate 1.84b in 1997 simply because young girl love it. Everyone loves Titanic except those on the loser end. I would say young girl were the most vocal group loving it but they hardly the only love it,

In retrospect it was a global-tailored package: disaster film, which traditionally played well OS? Check. The “it” tiger beat matinee idol of that moment? Check. A rare blockbuster of that era oriented around social-economical class division? Check. The best non-Spielberg blockbuster director of that era (arguably all time) doing his thing with storytelling and FX? Check. Boobs? Check. And so forth.

the teen girls played their part, but yes it wasn’t just them to say the least.

No movie makes absurd amounts of money thanks to one demographic alone. If teenage girls were responsible for Titanic, Hollywood would've instantly given the green light to Backstreet Boys and NSYNC movies around that time that would've made a billion worldwide each.

Idris Elba should have got the Bond role years ago.

I still think he'd make a good Bond, but not sure whether he is too old for it now given that he's only 5 years younger than Craig.

But anyway, Bond as a series is pretty overrated. After seeing Casino Royale, I loved it. Then when I tried to watch it again 5 years later it was a slog to get through. In fact pacing as a whole is pretty awful in this franchise. Many/most of the old Bonds are a real drag.

Much like in many other European countries, you will need a vaccination passport or a negative test to be able to go to theaters here. Just end their misery ffs.

GI Joe isn't a bad IP. It's just that Hollywood doesn't know what to do with it.

Like not one Gen Xer I know was like "man, I really want to to see a Snake Eyes origin story where he doesn't suit up until the final scene".
