To be fair, Sony would’ve been expecting a $1 Billion gross minimum from NWH and now with Delta anything over $500mil will be considered a big win. For a studio like Sony that’s a lot of money to throw down the drain when they barely have any other tent poles left. Moving is the smart decision for the non Disney/WB studios

$500m wouldn’t be considered a “big win” for Spider-Man if it’s only $100m more than Black Widow and people have done nothing but drag that film.

ERC unfortunately rearing it’s ugly head again lol, I get the impression he doesn’t believe (?) in the pandemic and is therefore probably best avoided and unfollowed. Mess.

The writing is on the wall…new wave of delays are coming.

mad for this movie…26m and no VOD revenues…yikes. Probably best dc movie since dark Knight and likely won’t be revisited on the big screen. Oh well. Doubt the show will be canned or cancelled atleast

for spiderman to only hit 500 mill it would need to make what bw made sans china 400 mill + 100 mill from china  something thats laughable to be honest..........spidey not only will have bigger or way bigger ow it will also have great legs bc of xmas and bc it will be theatrical only.....

Why is moving the smart decision?  Movies moved 18 months and they still end up smack dab in the middle of a virus surge.  What guarantee is there that moving NWH protects it?  Also, not to mention if that moves they have to move all sorts of other things because of the MCU timelines.

Like most of the world, studios are going to have to settle for "hopefully we break even or make some money" rather than hording in hundreds of millions in profit.  They can't move stuff forever.

Oh there’s no guarantee at all, this time next year could be just as bad still. But Sony would be giving themselves a decent chance at an extra few hundred million dollars just by pushing back a few months, for them that is massive.

Disney and WB I agree should at this point just settle for whatever they can get at the box office and keep their slates the same though. They can take the financial hits, Sony and others like them can’t.

Let’s quantify that drop by saying it opens at 35m…the way the positive reaction around JC has been it could have done 60-70m

No, the writing isn't on the wall.

You're just making things up.
