Just realized that WB’s highest grossing release (DOM and WW?) for calendar 2021 will be the movie they put out back during March.

Well, it is Hollywood's #2 WW grosser for the year (and will probably not lose that spot for awhile), so it's all about perspective in 2021...I mean, 3 of the top 4 WW highest grossers (Hollywood and non-Hollywood) were late winter/early spring releases...

It got Rob Stark saying that he can lead the Avengers now that Steve Rogers and Iron Man are really gone.

Here’s hopping Ikaris doesn’t invite any of them to a wedding.

Okay, but like, a hook for normal people ;)

A someone who is not a comic book guy, this is sort of how I feel. The first trailer for Eternals was pretty meh.

Neither SC or Eternals has really caught my eye to this point. SC will definitely be a watch when it gets to streaming. Eternals, we'll see how the pandemic looks when it is coming out and whether the promotion gets any better for it, probably a maybe at best for me right now. Bond and Spider-Man two most likely films I might see assuming the COVID numbers are under control by then.

Also, just wanted to say how happy I am to see FG's numbers. The promos for that movie looked like alot of fun. I feel like that should have a good run in the theaters.

TSS numbers have to be really disappointing for WB. With less than 25M in WW gross this weekend will it make it to 200M total? The promotion for that was not very good. From a distance I feel like the uber fans loved it, but everyone else was much more mixed.

Hasn’t looked likely to hit 200M since a few weeks before it came out.

TSS is doing bad because it’s pretty much available on YT, there’s a ton of reaction videos that show almost the entire movie or at least show all the big parts. Hoping it pulled in numbers on HBO Max because otherwise there won’t be a part 3.

yep. Gen X feel like if a movie is on streaming they can pretty much clip what they like on YouTube.  Just like they do not see a rip of a digital version as ‘piracy’. If what they’re seeing is the legit version, they don’t care how they watch it. This is something I feel older people are in denial about as they know it’s morally wrong.

The internet gen don’t care. They just want to be part of the conversation when something is out and being buzzed about.
The 18-30’s demograph is the most important one as far as box office goes. They’re the ones that buzz about these movies, and they’ll seek those movies out to be part of that convo. If you only put them in theaters, then off to the movies they’ll go. If it’s there on their iPads then they’ll happily watch it on there.

Don’t forget guys. All of this love for FG’s performance when you’d have been bashing it if it had opened to $13 million when being on HBO Max same day.

The sooner we get these big movies back exclusively in theaters, the better for the whole movie business.

100% this.

Gen-X is a lot older than that!

People now watch videos of other people reacting to whole movies :winomg:

People rather have some one tell them what to think of a movie/music/show/game than to enjoy it themselves. Look at how much money people are making on twitch.

Yeah, Emma Stone is the real winner here.

Per @MattBelloni's What I'm Hearing newsletter (https://t.co/iHXPRaQcRD) Emma Stone reportedly received an eight-figure "make good" payment for #Cruella's hybrid release and another eight-figure payment for Cruella 2.

Getting a cut from each PA purchase might become the demands of all A listers working at Disney going forward.
