Dune OS Thread: DESERT POWER 400.2M WW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (292.3M OS)

France overperformed by expectations but was almost cancelled by what I was expecting for Denmark and Sweden, numbers coming $36M+.

Was sorta worried when I saw signs of it being pre-sales loaded, thinking $40M may be bit high, but it did came close to that.

Though I have it over $37.5M+. Basically WB hasn't reported CIS markets, which I estimates at $0.8M+.

I dont get that Denmark number. Sounds to low. Is it really 1.1 mill 4,5 day?

Not adjusted for ER difference, though there wont be much.

Comparison with BR 2049

Russia - +120% (this I adjusted for ER because diff is a lot, in USD +75%, in admits +94%)

Ukraine - +110%
France - +95%

Netherlands - +77%
Taiwan - +61%
Nordics - +55%

Hong Kong - +52%
Germany - +45%

Italy - +4%
Spain - +3%

Rest of Europe - +35%

Hmm. I have not seen a single ticket on kino.dk under 20$🤔

Yeah, just checked, barely anything below $20. I didnt get to check FRI onward but WED and THU did look like 18k+ combined. I suppose we will see increase in actuals. Norway should be $1.05M atleast as well.

I was never onboard Deadline's totally unambitious 20m projection since they called anything >23m for SC's opening is a win.

I am not disappointed by 37m but neither I am impressed. Unless the movie leg out like crazy from here (anything above 4x), this would be just another standard pandemic box office run.

It is an impressive run cause it didn't open in all markets that post big numbers. No UK, China, Japan, etc yet. So since it's going to be a staggered release, it's premature to write it off as one week wonder. It hits Middle East on Sep 22 so while those markets don't post big numbers, every dollar counts so hold should be good next week.

4x is a big ask.

Biggest problem for that is the fact 35% of these number came from Russia, East Asia where 2.5x legs will be considered big, so that will deflate the overall legs, despite it getting 3.5x+ plus in Germany, Netherlands, etc and 4x+ in Nordics

If this gets same legs of Blade Runner 2049 in all the markets, it will reach $112M (3X).
