ChipDerby Posted November 1 Posted November 1 While yes, the finale was weaker than ep 8 (almost every show ever) the Witches Road story was SO WELL DONE. Just excellent stuff. Quote
dudalb Posted November 1 Posted November 1 What is interestin to me is that Spoiler The whole Ghost angle gives the MCU a way for some dead charecters to reappear without undoing their deaths. Quote

Spidey Freak Posted November 2 Posted November 2 And then it dropped for Episode 9... did people switch off the tv thinking the show ended? 😛 Quote

Speaking personally (and I’m assuming that was aimed at me since I’m the only one who mentioned disliking musicals recently in this thread), they’re just not for me. As soon as people start singing and breaking into elaborate dance numbers it just makes me cringe and drags me completely out of the story. Fair enough if you like them, I’m not saying they shouldn’t make them, but saying it’s “ignorant” not to like a piece of art is pretty stupid in itself. Quote
Spidey Freak Posted November 4 Posted November 4 @Eric Harris You've been surprisingly silent on this and Joe Locke's character considering you've been hoping for a gay superhero since a long time. Apologies in advance if I'm thinking of someone else Quote

IMO this is superior to Wandavision. The smaller budget allowed them to be bolder and take more risks. If you want LGBTQ+ rep in superhero fare, then this is undoubtedly unparalleled, even if that's a low bar. Quote

ChipDerby Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Supergirl had a trans superhero! Doom Patrol was gay gay gay gay gay gay gay. Agatha was like dipping a toe into the LGBTQ+ waters. Quote

That's definitely more than Supergirl rep (though the show was great for trans rep) I honestly don't know much about Doom Patrol rep beyond Matt Bomer's robot man being gay. I know there were flashbacks and stuff back to when he was human but eh, still don't think it beats AAA (though do feel free to let me know if there were more main characters who were gay) Quote

There’s also a non binary “living street” that talks via street signs in Doom Patrol called Danny that is a refuge for LGBTQ+ people, not to mention a character called Flex Mentallo who causes people to orgasm when he flexes his muscles in a certain way. It’s much gayer than Agatha. It’s also brilliant. Back to Agatha though, I finished it last week and really enjoyed it. Thought it was a couple of episodes too long as there were a few episodes in the middle where it seemed to be treading water, but overall it’s a good follow up to WandaVision. I loved all of the stuff with Agatha thinking she was Kate Winslet’s character in Mare of Easttown 😂 Edited November 29 by SnokesLegs 2 Quote

Still lowkey holding out hope that's the era they adapt for the MCU. I don't know how my brain forgot all about Dead Boy Detectives, the spin-off of Doom Patrol that came out earlier this year which I did watch and was high on queer inclusion too. TBF to me though, Netflix did an ass job of promoting it. Edited November 29 by Spidey Freak 1 Quote
