NO TIME TO DIE WEEKEND THREAD | Bond 56M, Venom 32M

Recommended Posts

We will get only 1 75+M opener every month.

Sept - shang chu

Oct - v2

Nov- eternals

Dec - spiderman

Spiderman will set the tone for 2022 and make up for the shitty year by opening to 150+M, as it has a lot of elements to get the fans/general public excited. Sony wins this year.

Considering where we were just a year ago 2021 is definately not shitty and its also affected by the product 2021 slate is bacisally 2020 one.In terms of this weekend more like 30-33 for venom and 56-57 for bond depending on sun.Venoms numbers are logical the first movie dropped with 56-57 % on its sec weekend and that without competition  ,so 60-65 % for v2  is not suprising imo.As for bond while dissaponting to be sure i am honestly not really suprised the franchise already showed that skyfall success cant be replicated again add to that the fact that bond is not big in the us and here we go

The whole handcuffed escape, followed by the motorbike/helicopter chase! One of the best action sequences in the whole franchise.

Never in a million years would 2 people be able to control a motorbike like that

That's a crazy stat!

FOTR and Harry Potter 1 both came out within a month of each other and became the UK's 2nd and 3rd highest grossing movie of all time behind titanic. They were much bigger in the UK than the US

HP especially was much bigger OS (including UK) than dom. All 3 LOTR movies made over 300M in US while only 3 out of 8 Potter movies did. OTOH, with the exception of POA (over 500M), 7 HP movies made over 600M OS. Fantasy has always been a giant OS. Also see POTC

It might also be because both the Franchise were based on British books. I think FOTR is one of our most impressive runs considering it got so close to the hugely hyped Harry Potter here. Unlike the US too, LOTR peaked with the first movie.
