Eternals sold 161.391 tickets on its OD in France (2.665 tickets in previews). It's the 8th best start of the year just behind Venom 2 (161.674 tickets). Black Widow sold 184.770 OD and Shang-Chi sold 108.161 tickets OD

Cine-directors is expecting 830K admissions for opening week in france. That means they are expecting it to be frontloaded. of course they could be underestimating it. Let us see who rest of the weekend go.

Despite the holiday context, it seems consistent to me if we compare it with BW. If 800k OW = maybe 2 million admissions in the end. The best total for a marvel since FFH.

It was reported that it made 600kUS$ yesterday. So with ticket prices a bit higher than 10$ (normal price 11,4€ in my theater but in Munich it's probably more expensive than in other regions) that would be ca. 50k+ admissions on Wednesday. Pretty much in line with expectations: Mark_G from insidekino predicts around 300k admissions for the weekend including Wednesday and 240k without Wednesday.

WOM seems to be quite good so far but not as good as e.g. for Dune.

Today 41.7k vs 37k for Shang-Chi.

SC OW was 180K admissions.

194.6 vs 193.3 that virtually the same, Venom at 205 being really close has well (have yet to be done so could distance, but that seem to indicate hard to reach 250 without China for the genre right now

Venom should be fairly above the MCU properties at the end (even without China), its still has Japan and Australia and some smaller markets to open.

Eh, I don't really buy these "ceiling" arguments. BW opened higher than SC in most markets but SC had better legs to make up the gap (and also benefited from reopenings). Eternals is opening higher than both, we'll see what the legs are like.

Shang chi will finish with 210 or so ,as for venom that movie had staggered release and probably finish will be around 300 or so sans china

Could be just random that 2 counter force (one leggier-bigger than expected one underperfoming) ending up with the exact same number yes
