My default assumption is that it would be a solid genre show that's overhyped due to IP connections but it seems like Word of Mouth is stronger than that. I think the show for sure is an "overhyped IP genre show" BUT everything about it lifts it higher than it has any right to be. Acting, music, cinematography. It's all top notch. 1 Quote
Megajohn01 Posted October 14 Posted October 14 While it’s a solid show, my issue is that it reinforces DC’s inability to embrace and dive deep into the wilder aspects of Batman’s rogues gallery. it’s almost as if since the releases of Batman Forever & Batman and Robin, nearly every Batman live action project has been living with PTSD when it comes moving beyond the grounded approach. It’s honestly tiring Quote
fmpro Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Fucking live this show. How good was that last episode huh!?!, It keeps getting better and better Milioti an CF must be up for an award or two of some kind Quote

And she is not afriaid to use the fact she has a pretty strong resembelence to Talia Shire in the role/ And i Love the 4th Episode tile Cent'Anni which is a traditional Italian toast. I know. My wife is an Italian American, and many thew time when at a family gathering that toast is given. It means "may you live a 100 years.' And, of course, it is also another Godfather easter egg; Michale Corleone gives that toast a couple of times in the Godfather trilogy, most noticably in the thrid film. Surprise, in an interview where he was asked which films have influenced him as a filmmaker, first film Matt Reeves mentioned as 'The Godfather". 1 Quote

I hope they do not kill Sofia off, i really want to see her come up against The Batman. Miloti's brilliance is that she actually makes us stympthize to point with Sofia, despite all the evil things she does SHades of Vito and Michale Corleone and Tony Soprano whom we cheer for even though we know they are doing really bad things. Belakor Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Yeah this show has been stellar, every episode keeps improving in acting, writing, etc. Quote
dudalb Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Can't resist it, Spoiler at the end of episode 4, Luca Falcone sleeps with the fishes........ .I also wonder if Helana Bertinelli might not show up in the Reeves Batverse. The Huntress seems a good fit. Quote
dudalb Posted October 18 Posted October 18 I remember..vaguely...that Patterson s Batman will make a appreance in this series. Makes sense. Batman has gotta be taking a real interest in all the shit going on in this series. Since the Falcone's. are responsible for a lot of his grief, he has got to take a personal interest in seeing the whole family totally dismantled; Carmine was the first step. And I admit, I want to see Sofia and the Dark Knight cross paths. Quote

I still think Batsy will get some mentions, then. I really hope Sofia is not killed off because I really want to her go up against Batman. Quote
underbox Posted October 20 Posted October 20 (edited) I just finished the first episode, can't wait for the rest. I love this show. Tutuapp Edited November 18 by underbox Quote

ChipDerby Posted October 28 Posted October 28 The penultimate episode next week is going to be BANANAS. This was a pretty good calm before the storm episode, with some plot growth for Victor and them even inserting the subtle potential break between him and Oz (with him creating a story about his brother when talking to his mom) 1 Quote

4815162342 Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Sal beating Oz's butt then dropping dead of a heart attack before he could finish the job and then Oz getting pissed off at that and being upset, but then moving on with the win in the end was good 1 Quote
wattage Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Just watched the finalez my stomach hurts. Great show. I need Batman to lay hands on Oswald in the sequel. I need his life ruined actually. 1 Quote
clockwork Posted November 11 Posted November 11 (edited) It's damn near criminal how tightly written this show is, there's almost nothing here that happens without a reason. It's both funny and sad that a show about The Penguin of all characters manages to have a better written story than other projects with more popular characters out there. You see what happens when the people in charge actually take a project seriously and not just to cash in a popular brand/character just to make content? Andor is another example I could point to where the people in charge actually gave af and made something legit. This could've gone left easily I think and had no business being this good but they actually took it seriously and made a compelling crime drama that just so happens to be set in a comic book world. This definitely feels like DC's counterpart to the Netflix Daredevil show, at least to me. Edited November 11 by clockwork 3 Quote
