SOfia is in a coma. We all know she is going to wake up.

That final shot was sort of what I was expecting. You knew Batman was keeping trakc of what was going on.

I would say the chanbes of Sofia waking up in Batman 2 are pretty good.

Reeves was smart enough not to kill her off. 

 

Pretty cleat Reeves was using the Batman universe as sort of a core fo doing a Mafia movie. reeves has several time stated 'The Godfather" is one of his favorite movies.

Do you mean The Penguin's mom is in a coma? Cause Sofia was wide awake and reading a letter in Arkham at the end of episode 8 lol

 

Also they said the mom was in a vegetative state, I don't think she's waking up from that.

So did I. 

It was ahocker, and  The Penguin just lost a lot of the audeince sympthay he has built up. I think was deliberate on Reeves part; This is his version of Michael Corleone sacrificing audience sympathy when he ordered the death of Fredo.

%yhe final episode was certianly full of homages and borrowing from the first 2 Godfather movies.

The scene in the car with Oz and Sofia where it cuts between Oz and Sofia and Oz's henchmen killing all the other mob leaders in Gotham is, of course, a tribute to the 'Baptism of Blood" montage in the first Godfathrr where Michale Corleone wipes out his emenmies in one fell swoop. and Oz'smutder of  VIctor is meant to echo Michale's ordering the death of his own borther in Godfather Two; Where he totally goes over to the Dark Side and becomes a monster.
