Just realized now that there's nothing else to track until either Uncharted puts up sales (should be sometime in January hopefully?) or when Moonfall/Jackass comes out. I know there's like some rando movie called Redeeming Love and that King's Daughter thing with Pierce Brosnan, but...come on. So um...you guys got any advice on how I should spend my evenings now?

Drafthouse might be overindexing, and also had restrictions back in October, so that comp may not be very good. Last day was weaker at Megaplex and Denver compared to HK, but it still looks good. I'll go with 4M flat

Quick and Dirty Scream Harkins California Check

Scream - 1459/6640 on 23 shows as at 07:00 PM - $20,350

Final

Halloween Kills - 2487/6411 on 35 shows - $31,426

Not looking as great as other places.

Currently $3.15M with gross comp and $2.85M by admits comp. Scream has Cine1 PLF, HK didn't had those. Let's see how walkins improve things.

Quick and Dirty Scream (2022) Sacto Report:

1603/12199 (13.14% sold)

As of T-1:

112.33% of Halloween Kills (5.28m) (adj down for Ont)

66.98%   of AQP II               (3.01m)

55.29%   of F9                    (3.93m)

119.36% of TSS                   (4.70m) (adj down for Ont)

Reminder that Halloween Kills under-performed locally, at least compared to its nearest comp of AQP II.  But if Sacto just doesn't like horror (or at least slashers [even if they are on the memetic side]), then H:K might still be the best comp, but also might represent something of a best case scenario.

Oooppps.

Managed to get a sample taken, but it's about an hour later than I normally take 7pm'ers.  But this is Quick and Dirty, so I'm not that concerned.  At least I remembered to grab the Fan Event showings in time.

Quick and Dirty Scream (2022) Sacto Report [6:45pm - 7:05pm]:

2590/12249 (21.14% sold) [+987]

Final Comps:

105.80% of Halloween Kills (4.98m) (adj down for Ont)

77.64%   of AQP II               (3.72m)

58.77%   of F9                    (4.17m)

110.12% of TSS                   (4.33m) (adj down for Ont)

Even though I took my sample about an hour later than I did for H:K, still lost ground even though it outsold it on a pure day-for-day comp.

Thinking about 4.6m to 5.1m as it did outsell H:K locally.  Since this is Q&D, I refuse to think more than I have to.

*goes back to gaming*

No Black Panther?😞

These are Netflix movies only. Ma Rainey and The Harder They Fall actually did play at Cinemark theaters for a short time before they became available on streaming. This will be the first time Dolemite and Da 5 Bloods will be shown on multiplex screens (or any screens in the case of the latter which came out when everything was shut down).

This is definitely less about attendance and more about supporting black storytelling on screen using their deal that happened thanks to the pandemic opening up theatrical distribution options to streamers (not a bad choice at a time when most minority-led projects are being banished to streaming). This probably isn't the last time they'll do this either (wouldn't be surprised if they put out The Boys in the Band '20 among other LGBT titles of theirs for something similar in June to celebrate Pride Month).

At 9:15 PST

Scream - 1700/6640 on 23 shows - $23,340

May be add 25-50 more seats tops.

68% of Halloween Kills Admits - $3.3M

74% of Halloween Kills Gross - $3.6M

100% of The Suicide Squad Admits - $4M

HK did over index in Southern US. If it was being normal, it will be around $3.9M approx. with this gross. I am going with $3.75M.

One theater I track this outsold HK by a decent margin, but I’ve only recently started tracking this location so I don’t have a ton of other comps. I’ll be back soon with my regular comps for my local area.
