Taylor
Industry predictions for “Scream” are in the $35 million-$40 million range over four days. Its audience should be minimally impacted by omicron concerns: Although there are some closures in Canada, so far there have been no moves to limit U.S. theaters. “Scream” could result in $80 million or more by the month’s end. https://www.indiewire.com/2022/01/spider-man-850-million-january-box-office-1234688652/ Would be incredible if accurate. 2
el sid
The 355, counted today at 11am EST for Friday: NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 35 (4 showtimes)Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 18 (5 showtimes)Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 3 (2 showtimes)Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 4 (2 showtimes)Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 9 (3 showtimes) San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 75 (8 showtimes)LA (AMC Universal): 33 (6 showtimes)Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 177.Up 27% since yesterday.Comps (all counted on Thursday for Friday and in 7 theaters): The Rhythm Section (2.7M OW) had 157 sold tickets, The Protege (2.9M OW) had 91 sold tickets and Charlie's Angels (8.4M OW) had 368 sold tickets. For Thursday it had today 213 sold tickets (up 21% since yesterday, in 6 theaters today because the AMC in Michigan is closed due to winter storms). Charlie's Angels had also on Thursday for Thursday 295 sold tickets (and 288 in the same 6 theaters). So it had rather modest jumps today and the reviews won't help. I still see it over the 3M mark but the 7M forecast of Variety seems optimistic to me now. Scream, counted today at 11am EST for Thursday, Jan 13 (7 days to go): NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 74 (2 showtimes)Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 90 (2 showtimes)Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 19 (1 showtime)Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 4 (1 showtime)Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 43 (2 showtimes) San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 124 (3 showtimes)LA (AMC Universal): 367 (9 showtimes)Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 721.Up 5% since yesterday.Comps: The Forever Purge had on Thursday for Thursday (= 0 days left) 241 sold tickets,Halloween Kills had on Monday of its release week (= Scream has 4 days left to increase the lead) 595 sold tickets for Thursday and AQP II had also 7 days before 495 sold tickets for Thursday.Scream, counted today at 11am EST for Friday, Jan 14 (8 days to go): NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 78 (5 showtimes)Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 56 (5 showtimes)Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 15 (2 showtimes)Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 2 (1 showtime)Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 12 (3 showtimes) San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 77 (8 showtimes)LA (AMC Universal): 123 (4 showtimes)Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 363.Up 17% since yesterday. Comp: Halloween Kills had on Monday of its relase week 750 sold tickets for Fridayand The Conjuring 3 had also 8 days before 349 sold tickets for Friday. The Thursday jump was a bit small today but good to see that the Friday catches up. 2
XXR Didnt Win An Oscar
I spent no time tracking it, but The 355 has sold 31 tickets at my theater for tonight. Comped against NWH (LOL), that gives me a previews number of $435K. I'll go with 10% less than that for my estimate, so ~$390K. 1

Is it reflecting Canada lockdown? Theater shutdowns in CA plus hours reduction elsewhere...a lot of the old cut movies were only getting the earliest or latest show of the day...now those shows don't exist again after the holiday... Plus some theaters are tiny...so adding one movie on one screen could force 2 movies who were sharing a screen out...as another example.
