Of note for those who aren't tracking all the time.

This week, Fandango has made a slight, but (mostly) welcome change.  It used to be one had to click multiple times before getting to a seat map (where one could see how many seats have been sold).  But with their latest update to their system, now clicking on a showtime will immediately bring you to a seat map, much like Cinemark does.

The only downside, and it isn't a completely insignificant one, is that pricing and auditorium information is now a couple of clicks past this seat map, so finding out which showings are matinees/have any pricing hikes as well as tracking down auditorium numbers to see if there various blacked out seats that keyword searches aren't picking up is slightly more time consuming.

On the whole though, the later only really matters when I am setting up my sheets (at least with my workflow) and the former is much much more important.  So when it comes to pure time savings, this is by far a huge huge win for trackers who use Fandango.

---

Secondly, GOTG3 showtimes are starting to trickle in. 3pm start time, as previously reported. Not for sale yet, obs.  But not long now.

Is the ideal method for tracking to use the web browser version? Anytime I've done any sort of quick tracking using Fandango I use the app on my phone, and within one click you can see an entire theaters seat map in one graphic - ie: Clicking on burbank 16 dolby screen will show you every seat map for that day in one click. Super ideal

You've probably answered this in this thread somewhere before, but why is the Minions comp so crazy? Did that just have really massive walk ups?

Consider me happily surprised with that Margaret tracking. At first I figured it was destined to end up another Edge of Seventeen (critically acclaimed but no one sees it in theaters), but it is based on a book that is both iconic and remains popular to this day (kind of crazy given how book-obsessed Hollywood is that it took so long to make an adaptation out of this one) and Lionsgate is having a terrific year so far, so it would be cool if they were able to turn this into another Where the Crawdads Sing ala a hit that sort of comes out of nowhere.

I thought it would fall back to earth with some of these comps like Sonic and Minions. Instead it seems to actually be pulling away.

This movie does what tracking is showing and has good legs/wom then this would definitely be a legit strong new animation IP. Its Mario so in a way with the name recognition it would be strong, but this is definitely a good thing.

The late surge in presales and walkups were pretty much unprecedented I think...

Holy crap at Are You There God tracking. I didn’t expect it to make a third of that. To be honest I’ll be surprised if tracking stays that high. Still expecting a single digits opening for that one unfortunately.
