So 400M should happen right?

So, Japan's Gross seems to be excellent as per USD-JPY C.E.R., it had went ahead of NWH with ¥3467M. While Corpse's Estimate placed it on ¥3420M.

Okay, forget about it. Unofficially, it tracks ahead of NWH on Sunday. But Officially on Monday on JPY (ignore USD)

For Record, NWH made ¥160,946,250 / ¥3,431,144,900 (4th WK)

Yes, FB3 cannot defeat NWH in any market. However, Japan seems to be making an exception !!

DOMESTIC $86,323,417 (+310k from estimates)
INTERNATIONAL $278,400,000  (+700k from estimates)

WORLDWIDE $364,723,417

Without major releases in the next 2 weeks, I think 400M should happen.

This seems weird, it only increased 7.6M in the entire week, last week it increased 25.9M. Japan only 1.1M for the entire week? China +0.8M, in China BO thread it seems like it increased 1.4M for the week. Maybe golden week really inflated last week? I don't know.

Seems like one-two punch of Golden Week getting over and DS2 first full week slaughtered it.

400M is likely dead, as is at least the theatrical continuation of this franchise

Overseas +2.6M from estimtes (10.2M overseas week), +0.2M domestic. This makes more sense. So 21.2M from 400M. Without any push from Warner it will make like 5-6M domestic, so it needs 15-16M overseas, I think it's possible with Japan being more leggy than any other country.

Puuh, that seems like a stretch, but might barely get there.

Don't know how much other countries might add, but Germany - I guess could add another 2m (maybe a little below) over the rest of its run.

Yeah, it will be close, hoping for some reopenings in China for a little boost.

When one compares it to the early Harry Potter movies who where the largest or among the largest in their release year.
FB3 ist only the biggest movie of the year in Swiss, Austria, Netherlands and Germany (maybe Belgium). And DS2 will probably replace it soon in Swiss. Austria could be close, but probably will survive until JW in the other 3 countries - unless Top Gun blows up and at the very latest Minions should top it.

6.3M overseas week (10.2M last week), 38% drop.

So it needs ~4M domestic + ~8M overseas to 400M. But this will be the last week before the HBO Max release, and Top Gun Maverick will be released this weekend also.

It will hit $300m OS - but likely not $400m WW.

If it were not for China's lockdown, it would have hit $420m+ WW. All in all...a decent enough result in the wake of covid and the unbelievably negative attention surrounding the film. It will have doubled its budget and will likely be the final film in the series.

It ended on a very satisfying note for most of its characters, so I'm okay with there not being future movies.

I think 400 will be reached. We are at 288, still 3/4M$ in the US. China will help him a little more + Japan. We will see.

And no I do not agree that a sequel concluding the legendary fight of 45 does not happen. They must.
