Is it true that Rock did that joke in rehearsal with Will Smith in the room and there was no issue?

 

If people really are going to excuse Smith's assault, then there has to be the same lenience given to anyone who wants to punch someone due to a joke they don't like.  Or even a political shot.  Can't wait for some conservative to walk up to Stephen Colbert or Jimmy Kimmel, and roundhouse him and see if they're cheered by the same people who now champion Will Smith.

Personally been a will smith fan and that is his movies . His personal life over the years has been controversial ,his wife , children and his alleged Scientology. He is kind of an ego centric prick.

Personally i'm able to separate the art from the artist for the most part.

This whole debacle was just embarrassing for Smith tbh . This should have been his night but this will overshadow it.

He walks on stage and downright assaults rock for a fucking joke which was mean but c'mon I've seen alot worse .

 The fact that rock took it like a champ and solidiered on after being humiliated in front of probably millions of viewers showed high levels of professionalism and only showed how insecure and childish Smith is.

 

Then Smith  talks something about love and peace in his Oscar speech was downright disturbing. 

Oscars act like all the shit that went down was acceptable. The man should have been escorted out tbh.

 

Let's face it's what rose ratings significantly . Or how far the Oscars have fallen.

Now for who deserved to win . personally haven't been much into   Oscar movies since covid tbh so haven't seen most of them.

Originally during the Oscar season use to sit on my couch and catch up with the movies .

Glad dune scooped up technical awards.

Mitchell and machines was my pick to win and it should have won over encanto. 

As for the rest, guess congratulations to those who won.

There is nothing wrong in saying "a bald woman looks like Soldier Jane" It's actually what a joke should be: fun

 

then if you can't accept a joke about you being bald like millions of bald people make everyday because you're a petulant egomaniac millionarie thinking you are the center of the world it's another story.

 

But the joke Chris Rock made about the untalented wife of Smith in 2016 is even more funnier

 

"She said to boycott the oscar. Will smith wife saying she boicotts the Oscar it's like me saying i boycott rihanna's panties"

The whole situtation is very disturbing. I guess comedians can't make memes or jokes about bald people because some of them might be losing their hair because of a disease. Is that the world people wnt to live?

Around 30 minutes if there isn't a Nielsen delay until initial numbers are released. Since the Oscars are a live event the ratings should go up in the final number.

I’m black and I know that if I put my hands on another man then I better be ready to fight til one of us can’t stand anymore. Smith got to walk away, get a award, give a speech, celebrate at a after party while his song played and wasn’t charged cause he gets paid 20 million for shit movies like wild Wild West and suicide squad. It’s all about class and it’s bullshit.

Honestly a GI Jane joke in 2022 feels insanely out of date, regardless of whether it's offensive or not.
