juni78ukr
I was right that studio estimate was way too low. Weekend estimates Interstellar 8,671,171 Big Hero 6 2,860,360 - 18,489,138 -38% Fury 1,265,766 - 7,310,668 -64% Yellowbird 641,982 Laggies 364,865 Maya The Bee 340,090 - 1,605,627 -46% Serena 244,108 - 1,483,946 -63% Before I Go to Sleep 213,964 - 1,355,217 -66% Dracula Untold 186,937 - 21,418,209 -67% Gone Girl 182,066 - 11,187,739 -59%

I'm just sad about the exchange rate, with a better exchange rate it would be around $23m by now..

Fullbuster
Will BH6 hit 25M? It's not impossible but I think it will fall short of it, I see $23m at best. Without the abysmal exchange rate it would end around 25-30m.
juni78ukr
Will BH6 hit 25M? Not entirely impossible but very hard. With school holidays in all regions ended midweek grosses will be abysmally low. 89% drop and 103k early Monday.

Melvin Frohike
Why is there even "Pixar" in the title? Big Hero 6 is the second-biggest WDAS (Walt Disney Animation Studios) movie in Russia, behind only Frozen, which is also a WDAS movie. That was weird but I guess they're the same for them given both are owned by Disney!
Quigley
Why is there even "Pixar" in the title? Big Hero 6 is the second-biggest WDAS (Walt Disney Animation Studios) movie in Russia, behind only Frozen, which is also a WDAS movie. Annoying ain't it? I mean, who cares if the same studio owns them. Disney owns Marvel as well but no one compared Big Hero 6 to Iron Man or the Avengers (ironically Big Hero 6 is a Marvel property). The reason for a comparison is because you want to remove a factor that suppossedly affects the box office performance. That factor could be genre, i.e. you can't compare a live-action film to an animated one because they appeal to different demographics. Or that factor may be marketing (so you compare the film to all films released by the same studio, which presumably applies the same marketing strategies). But animated Disney/Pixar films? That is just too much dissecting and almost feels as if the media outlets are trying to create a record out of nowhere.

juni78ukr
18.93 mln with kinometro numbers. A bit less with studio. It happened to open on a day with a rather good exchange rates compared to Interstellar.

Fullbuster
Hunger Games 2 grossed $23m and THG1 $13m so it's a good growth...But can THG3 pass THG2 with such a crappy exchange rate? Particularly if the Rouble doesn't stop sliding by then...
