Fullbuster
Starring: Chris Pine ... Jack Ryan Kenneth Branagh ... Viktor Cherevin (Russian villain; with the help of the local government, masterminds a plot to destroy America’s economy by making the dollar worthless) Keira Knightley ... Cathy Muller (Ryan's fiancee) Kevin Costner ... William Harper (Ryan's Handler; a true blue American idealist who recruits and mentors both Ryan and John Kelly) Peter Andersson ... Dmitri Lemkov ( Security Agent) Nonso Anozie David Paymer Plot: Ryan now living in Moscow continues his financial advising for a billionaire employer. His employer then sets him up to take the fall with a plot designed to take down the U.S. economy. Ryan must then clear his name, reveal the terrorist plot, save his wife (taken hostage by the billionaire employer). I didn't talk about it but at year's end Jack Ryan could be a success in Russia, it's a movie in Moscow, and apparently pretty ambitious. Rudolf
So we can finally have a Russian Top 20 2012. Who won 2012 in Russia? 1-Ice Age 4 : $50.1m 2-Madagascar 3 : 49.3m 3-The Avengers : 43.7m 4-The Hobbit : 42.9m 5-Twilight BD2 : 42.8m 6-MIB3 : 36.5m 7-John Carter : 33.6m 8-Three Warriors on Far Shores (RUS) : 29m 9-Skyfall : 25.2m 10-Wrath of the Titans : 22.3m 11-Battleship : 22m 12-The Amazing Spiderman : 21.9m 13-Prometheus : 21.3m 14-The Expendables 2 : 17.9m 15-Journey 2 : 17.6m 16-TDKR : 17.5m 17-Cloud Atlas : 17m 18-Ted : 16.9m 19-Resident Evil 5 : 16.8m 20-Brave : 16.1m What do you think about it? Only 1 Russian movie in the top 20, Hollywood is extremely dominant! And animated movies are the kings, so the performance of Epic / Monsters University could be fascinating. 2012 interesting facts : -John Carter in the top 10, given the global flop it's kind of impressive! -The Hobbit isn't in the top 3 -The Avengers is in the top 3, TASM and TDKR really passed their previous movies...Now SH movies are bankable in Russia, new era! -The success of Ted and Cloud Atlas. -The impressing rising of Twilight BD2 compared to BD1, in Russia it really was an ascending franchise. Bond underperformed as I predicted: BD2 was the only movie you underestimated

juni78ukr
Jack Reacher wasnt particularly strong in Russia and it dropped by 71% on week two. And obviously it has nothing to do with Die Hard 5. Any comparison here is useless.

juni78ukr
408 screens is not a limited release. But there is no reason for russians too see a movie about american president. Would americans see a movie about a soviet head of state? Not a chance. Edited January 24, 2013 by juni78ukr

juni78ukr
You gotta be kidding me. The most anticipated Russian movie in 2013 by website EuropeanMovies.Org??? 99% of our moviegoers never heard of that site. Some foreign site picked most anticipated Russian movie? The only problem is that they forgot to ask Russians. And the site looks amateurish and poor by the way. Such news or analitics make me sick.
