Would be nice if The Batman doesn't plummet next week, that week to week drop looks nice... still anything over $375m is fine with me.

I don't know why everyone is so pessimistic about Sonic 2's saturday. I know it's the weekend of easter, but the weekdays drops, for me at least, aren't looking that much different than other pandemic family movies (Sing 2, Encanto, Addams Family 2).

Historically, Good Friday acts like another Saturday due to a decent amount of children being off of school. Family films from Rio 2, Boss Baby, Smurfs, etc have followed that pattern. At best, it’ll have a light increase just o/u 5%, at worst a decrease of around 15%.

 

Had it been any other weekend, Sonic would’ve been around a 35m second weekend with those weekdays.

Cuz past trends indicate a drop on Sat from Good Friday. Every film points to a decline on Sat. Simple as that. Were this any other Sat, it would've been over 100% over Friday.

EEAAO had insane weekdays at my theatre. Indicator of excellent WOM, and great holds incoming.

I thought sonic 2 with good wom among fans would do 200+ with knuckles and all

 

Sucks.

 

Need a video game movie to do that number domestically for studios to start putting more genuine effort
