Nah, Japan lost to Costa Rica, so no matter how Germany plays today, any win by two goals over Costa Rica would be enough to advance if Japan should lose against Spain.

Also hier Japan bei Punktgleichheit?

I guess I won't be able to catch Glass Onion in the last two days of its run. A bit of a shame. Oh well, I guess Netflix and a projector will have to do. At least that beats only watching it on a tv-screen ;)

After some good weekends, this one was an unmitigated disaster - steep drops plus weak openers. Nobody was expecting much from Strange World but I would have bet on 100k at least - ouch. With the championship in background, some drops were expected, but family releases didn't fare too well either - no good news here, so on to

Next weekend: Sadly, no big releases again … Call Jane and Violent Night will not set the BO on fire; at least some longrunners are back on the  big screen with a few more shows - Tog Gun Maverick and Minions 2 get a lot of additional slots next weekend. Will probably not be enough to save the weekend from becoming another disaster.

Awful Thursday. Hopefully the interest in the world cup will further decrease now.

The second trend:

#1 Black Panther - Wakanda Forever 95k
#2 Einfach mal was Schönes 60k
#3 Strange World 52.5k
#4 Violent Night 42.5k
#5 The Menu 37.5k
#6 Die Schule der magischen Tiere2 30k
#7 Rheingold 25k
#8 Ein Weihnachtsfest für Teddy (Christmas for Teddy) 25k - that film slightly increased ;)

...

Call Jane 12.5k

Overall still a bad weekend but at least the family films (and also The Menu) have good holds.

How about Avatar 2 here?

Well, MarkG from InsideKino believes it'll reach 8,4M admissions, which would probably at least be anything between €105M-€115M+ ($110M-$120M+) - I really don't know what TP to expect. But he tends to be quite optimistic - the user average on the InsideKino forum is 6,8M for example.

I would say though that 7,5M+ and $100M+ should be the absolute minimum and more will happen 👀

Aristis dont fall into that trap. Dont expect anything from our country. All there is now is disappointment and Avatar 2 will be the same :sadno::sadno::sadno:

Spoiler

Id be happy to be wrong of course

If I'm wrong this time I'll never be optimistic again, but I am hopeful tbh 👀

If Avatar 2 manages to gross more than 100M, i actually think it could be the last film to achieve this in german box office history, considering the decline in the last decade.

You know maybe youre right maybe ive truly turned pessimistic.

on serious note, yeah German BO has been depressing and yeah this could be last 100M unless AVATAR sequels manage the event status.

When it comes to Avatar 2 I keep my expectations as low as possible. Just to avoid it to be disappointed.
From what I saw the trailer reactions were pretty positive in Germany but not overwhelmingly positive. Which must not be a bad thing because people don't expect a masterpiece at the moment and later could be pleasantly surprised if its not "only" a visually great film.
