A very good opening for STiD and H&N3; and very good numbers for nearly everything else. IM3 has already nearly doubled IM2's total! STiD opened much higher than ST. Of course, both are helped by 3D, but both movies are up in admissions, too. "Stoker" opened in only 50 theaters and didn't make my Top13. Chimpanzee opened in about 100 theaters, so #12 is quite good for it!

This weekend, "Epic" and "The Great Gatsby" are the biggest openers, I expect another very good week at the BO, especially with GG as the  additional choice for adult audiences.

uh-oh, STiD seems to stumble, Saturday looks much worse - updated weekend estimates:

#1-3: admission-wise close race between Gatsby, EvilDead and Epic, each with about 275k admissions - in US$, Gatsby should win comfortably, with evening tickets and 3D.

#4: STiD: 250k

#5: IM3 175k

#6: H&N3: 150k

Croods got hit hard by Epic, down to about 25k admissions from last week's 75k - but it's had a great run.

Final weekend trend: Better-than expected Saturday weather hampered family films, so now it's only GG and ED fighting for #1, Epic down to about 200k admissions (still respectable for a completely non-franchise type of film)

The Croods opened with 410k...

In Germany, FF6 just had the biggest opening day of 2013 yet with 230.000 admissions on Monday.

In Austria, more than 45.000 admissions which is even stronger (Austria has exactly 1/10 the population of Germany). This will be a fantastic weekend!

I think that's a pretty good number, as in 2011 99% were in easter holidays, this time, it's only 2 southern states, Bavaria and Baden-Würtemmberg, representing 25% of our population.

It should overtake Fast 5 again on friday, but will lose many viewers on saturday, as we've got a new national holiday here called Champions League Final, but should be bigger on sunday, again.

Is it true that they are making a sequel to Rubinrot? I thought the first movie bombed in German box office. And word of mouth wasnt pretty good?

I don't know about actually making, but the plans were definitely for a trilogy. Plus, "bombed" is hyperbole for a film with a budget of less than 10mil US$ - it made about 4.8mil in its core market (Germany+Austria) and about 0.9mil in Russia and maybe they'll give it a release elsewhere - the books seem to sell so I guess it will be bought by networks too, and get decent BD/DVD sales.
