2nd trend:

#1: Der Junge...: 325k (-28%)

#2: Aquaman: 150k (-50%)

#3: Robin Hood: 130k

#4: BR: 100k (-4%)

BR could crawl pass 3m if that holds were true and oscar nomination came true.

I assume Oscar buzz did help in german cinema?

Dont think so. The Oscars arent really relevant here. BR is probably just enjoying really good WOM.

So with this WE,

Junge is going for 3,5M to become the fifth 3M+ movie of 2018 (3 of which opened in November or December).

AQM will try to reach 2M (not easy to be reached) but it already passed SuicideSquad (1,61M) to become the biggest movie of the DCEU which is a great achievment!

BR should now be safe to reach 3M and, with the it's doing, who knows where exactly it's heading for. However, seeing how it's breaking records everywhere in Europe that's still rather low compared... Still, who wanna complain about a 3M+ movie in Germany?

Kalte Füße increased with the estimates so maybe it'll be a success on a low level.

FB2 will probably not reach 4M and get closer to 3,9M - so maybe with the next parts of the series. However, even if it's not reaching that mark Germany might be one of the highlights alongside Japan and France.

I wouldn't go that high, but

If BR sing along version managed to come to germany on the oscar nomination (presumably BR get in) weekend, 3.25m is a safer bet

I woudn't go as high either, I also don't think it will increase 6 WE in a row ;)

But yeah 3.25m seems reasonable, I agree with you. 550k admission, what is that in dollar? $6.5m - $7m?

Checked it myself the av ticket price is $10.5 so about $6m for 550k admission.

Only to add to thoughts about missed / reached goals or so:

Friday in some counties the schools were out for snow reasons, after last Thursday was a day the schools should have been closed in some regions at least, but were not.

In some of these counties the snow didn't come, so some pupils / parents might have taken advantage and went to the cinemas, in others there was no chance for it.

Today again school is out in some counties where the snow didnt come down yet, in others are really bad conditions. Snow seems to arrive in the afternoon latest.

Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow already some counties gave yesterday ~ 'school is out orders'.

For next weekend heavy snow got announced

A so-so weekend with some remarkable results – Bohemian Rhapsody is now a lock for >3mil admissions, and Der Junge muss an die frische Luft even has a (very small ) chance at 4mil

Next weekend: Glass has a very good chance at taking the top spot, 300k should be possible. Other interesting releases are domestic horse-girl book adaption Immenhof – should land in the 100k ballpark – romcom Manhattan Queen, and Mary Queen of Scots. With some very leggy releases like this weekend’s top 3, we should see a sizeable overall increase!

Not really. We tend to embrace the big (Non-Superhero) fantasy franchises, regardless of quality most of the time.

True like US, Asia embraces Superheros.

So, last year will probably become the second year (after 2016) without a 4M admission movie (in 2016 RO missed by about 5k adm.)

This year FB2 will probably miss by 100k.

Don't know about the german film, could get close to 3.9M too, but right now I'd say something more along the lines of 3.5-3.75M.

I really hope BR legs will leg it out a lot further.

At least past 3.01M so FS will only be #5 for the year.
