How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (released in 665 theaters; the predecessors had 1.63M respectively 2.73M visitors in total): 61k/ 624k US$
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part (460, the first one had 1.31M total admissions): 10k
Die Rückkehr des Pokals (Eintracht Frankfurt docu): 2.1k
The Prodigy (189): 1.8k → 17.5k admissions OW in the first trend
Holmes & Watson (104): ?k → 10k OW

The holdovers:

Der Junge: 15.5k (actuals last Thursday 21k)
Green Book: 13k (12k) - very good
Ralph II: 12k whole day (actuals last Thursday whole day 21k)

 

That film is a massive success, the numbers may be very small, but its an extremely limited release and it basically just is interesting for those who support the Eintracht (like me :)). It will probably get a more wider release in the weeks to come, at the few places its showing its practically only sellouts.

Rather nice weekend. indeed! How to Train Your Dragon 3 opened about a third higher than ist predecessor and might even reach 3mil total! The Lego Movie 2 on the other hand was a bit disappointing even if the number was expected (especially with two other family CGI movies in release …). Other releases had fine drops or even increases (awards food) - Green Book should see another slight expansion! Der Junge muss an die frische Luft is now the fifth and last 2018 release to gain blockbuster status … horrible year!

Next weekend: Two domestic productions with possible "big" openings (in the 200k region) plus Happy Death Day 2U - and Alita: Battle Angel which might open in the Valerian region, let's say 250k - but might also come in a lot lower … there's no question next weekend's leader will stay the Dragons.

And some Thursday actuals (source Blickpunkt:Film):

The new releases:
Der Club der roten Bänder (released in 598 theaters): 56k - that number looks good but I hope that there is interest over the whole weekend
Alita (566): 40k/504k US$ - pretty nice, GitS had 30k OD
Happy Death Day 2U (325): 26k - a big increase compared to the predecessor which had only 11k OD
Sweethearts (394): 11k → 65k admissions OW in the first trend
Ailos Reise/Ailos journey (a nature documentary, 157 theaters): ?k → 4k OW

The holdovers:

How to Train Your Dragon 3: 34k whole day (last Thursday 61k whole day)
Green Book: 15k (13k) - again it increased

The multiplier looks conservative but that's due to the predicted sunny weather over the whole weekend.
