That is what the franchise made before Germany $8,560,475 $2,461,403 $9,254,348 $16,007,303 $4,872,496

8.6 + 2.5 + 9.2 + 16 + 4.9 = $41.9m in Germany for The Avengers B) B) B):P

Do they have two iron men in their ranks?Seriously only Thor was bigish and that was more seen as a mythological movie.

That would put it at nr. 2 this year, with about a third of "Intouchables" admissions :D .Realistic: If the quality is ok and it chatches on with audiences, 25 to 30mil in Germany+Austria might be doable - about Hunger Games admission numbers + 3D ripoff.

Your "Anschluß"-charts need getting used to

Well, it's really one big market with very similar structures, same as USA + Canada, so combining the numbers makes sense. Since Austria's and Germany's charts are up at BoxofficeMojo anyway, it would be redundant to post them here, but this is the only combined chart as far as I know :)And sometimes it even makes a little difference. This week Chronicle flopped in Germany, but was ok in Austria - usually Austria's admissions are about 10% of Germany's (proportional to inhabitants), Chronicle did nearly 19% in Austria and so it was able to overtake "Intouchables" in the combined market. Same for "Mirror Mirror" which does better in Austria. And in Germany solo, "Hunger Games" is nr.2, but in Austria this had a much steeper drop and so it fell behind Titanic combined.

Thor only sold 1.1m tickets in Germany, IM2 sold 1m and IM sold 800k. I wouldn't expect big numbers from Germany.

From the Avengers OS threadIn Germany the opening day when finals are in will be over 100k in admits, but by admits American Pie opening is a very close 2nd over 90kIn $eu , #1 TA wil be over 1.1mil and #2 APR over 640kIn Austria APR wed is above TA in both admits & $eu but not by much, when finals are in it might switch.

At my theater they put Reunion on the biggest screen. Admissions about the same yesterday but they did a "Avengers" event with cheaper 3D tickets so Averngers' real test will be this weekend.

Here:

Yeah, but SH movies did better in Germany than in Italy...Despite of that, Italy would do much better? Something is wrong, but no matter it's a global success :)

Just saying. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that TA isn't doing as well in Germany as Italy.

I think echos of its success in the world and articles about its qualities + word of mouth will help it to hold on in Germany, with small drops.

Yep, it's shaping up to become the first real summer-weekend of the year so propably cinemas will be only second option behind outdoor activities. Insidekino has Avengers at nr.2 admission-wise but nr.1 in euros; 3D-ripoff seems to pay off. Looking at presales here, I see the same trend with Battleship + Chronicle getting slaughtered. "The Lucky One" has weak presales too but more showtimes so might catch up in the evening.
