@The Panda

convince me not to do a 100 long list and give Avatar 100 points and everything else 1

EDIT THO

yeah actually i understand it better now.
I thought doing the above would give Avatar 501 points worth the budget and you would scale it, because 100 of my 199 points I gave out were from Avatar. But you're only adding points

Only I 100% understand whats going on now.

Convince me not to give Jims filmography 700 points, then spread the remaining points amoung 93 films no one has heard of

ANNOUNCEMENT:

I had some discussion and we are going to cap the most points you can give a movie to 40 points. People were worried about top preferences being weighted to heavily, so this should strike a better balance.

I will post a new default allocation within the next day or two. given I’ve only received a few lists so far, hopefully this minor change doesn’t inconvenience to many people.

If you already allocated points you can either re-do it or for any movie you gave over 40 points, I can distribute the remainder evenly amoung the rest of your non-maxed out entries. Again, sorry for the inconvenience, thank @IronJimbo’s post for causing a freak out.

No problem everyone, I thought it seemed a little off. Hopefully we'll get a better final ranking this way!

Feels like a good day to ask folks not to forget CA: The Winter Soldier. You know, the movie where they expose the Nazi plot to kill millions of people, and then arrest the congressmen involved. Peak wish fulfillment. 🙏

(also @Plain Old Tele said I could post this, so if your feeling Feisty direct it to him 😂)

Also a big tag all reminder that lists are due at the end of the month! If you already sent in your list feel free to ignore.

Also trying to tag a lot of our newer members that likely get left out of these mass tags. Any member is welcome to submit a list!

Honestly, same. But I’m just gonna make my list of 100, put the movies I like the most at the top, and put movies I like at the least on the bottom, and then send it off to Panda for him to figure out. 💁‍♀️

You can either just send in a ranking (and points are allocated as said above), or you distribute

10 x (# of movies on your list) points

however you’d like (as long as you don’t give any movie above 40 points or below 1 point).

So for a list of 100, your list is worth 1000 total points (or on average each movie on your list receives 10 points)

Cannastop gave all of their top 10 40 points, 11-20 12 points, and 21-100 6 points.

Ozy just gave every movie on their list 10 points.

You can see in my post a little bit earlier on this page how I manually allocated mine (was a bit different from cannastop and Ozy), it’s really up to you how you want to do yours.

A few others just sent in a ranked list (and so then I distribute points based on the allocations mentioned in the top post). If you don’t want to bother allocating yourself, this is the way to go.

I put together a sheet to simplify the formatting.  If you want to use it just make a copy, enter your movies in B and points in C.  When you're finished, confirm that Budget = 0 then copy column E and send to The Panda.

Entry Sheet

Awesome! Can we pin this? @Cap
