Because they - for reasons i dont comprehend - decided to abandon Brolys great artstyle and went with mostly CGI-animation it seems like.

To be fair to them, 3D animation with 2D artstyle is getting a lot better. It probably is the future for animes and my god it used to look awful 5 years ago when they tried it.

 

I am also disappointed though, the Broly film's art and animation was sublime.
