Hey, 2.9m OD for Fantastic Beasts 2 seems pretty good :o

As a comparison FB1 grossed $6.3m OW. FB1 benefited from a better exchange rate as well.

FB2 is likely to be in the 8-10m OW range, that would be a strong improvement.

Fantastic Beasts started with R$22m, $8m would mean R$30m for FB2 (+36%)

I'm shocked by the weak performance of The Grinch ($1.4m for now) given there's no competition from Disney (Ralph not this year) and Illumination movies always do very well in Brazil...

The Grinch is not a well known character in Brazil. Most kids have no idea about who he is.

I guess it's in part true.

I mean, some movies have zero recognition but still manage to do well, look at Moana, Black Panther, Doctor Strange..etc..

It's almost a matter of marketing and I guess they failed there.

Wow, FB2 grossed only 2.8m this weekend..it's less than the opening day!

Terrible omen for the legs, it's still starting a bit higher than FB1 but with these legs it's likely to gross less on the long run 😕

The WOM must be bad..

Ahaha that's why I removed it, it's really hideous ^^'

The worst bit is when I saw it initially I thought "Oooo that looks like a nice colour sweater... Oh wait...", the fact it took me a second is disgraceful in itself.

How anybody could actually make that sweater though is beyond me, let alone somebody insane enough to buy one

Aquaman / Mortal Engines => December 13

Mary Poppins Returns => December 20

Ralph Breaks the Internet=> January 3

Aquaman being this late means Fantastic Beasts 2 will have quite some time to catch up when it comes to its pretty bad Saturday/Sunday, but can it with an apparently bad WoM?

Aquaman will be the biggest movie of these last few months, that was really needed after a strong 1st half of the year (Black Panther, Avengers 3, The incredibles 2).

Ralph Breaks the Internet has a perfect release date that usually works well for Disney, besides the theme of this sequel is much more appealing for Brazilians than the "arcade" theme of the 1st movie, Brazil is one of the world's most active countries on social networks. And of course Disney princesses can help.

I completely missed it because I was so busy these last few months but the local movie Nada A Perder was really impressive, that's rare to see a local movie grossing R$119m!

I also inform you Venom is big enough to have reached the top 10 (it's 9th with R$71m)
