"Absence of strong releases linked to 'competition' with the Libertadores final and the Enade event has taken audiences out of theaters." - FilmeB

CONMEBOL Libertadores - highest level of competition in South American club football. This year Flamengo (Brazilian club with the biggest fans in the world) was in the final against River Plate (Argentina).

FLAMENGO WAS THE WINNER!

Thanks

40m = 20% of the Brazilian population 😜

Enade (National Student Performance Exam) - assesses the performance of undergraduates of undergraduate courses in relation to the syllabus provided in the curriculum guidelines of the courses, the development of necessary competences and skills.

Earlier this year I said I would leave the BOT forums, and I must admit the anger toward the harsh moderation was the final straw...

But after spending more time here than I did in a longtime thanks to my strong interest for Frozen 2 I decided to reconsider, I'll probably stay. Instead I will just abstain from being there for every big release, I'll be there only for the releases I'm interested in.

For next year it'll at least be for the brazilian release of Frozen 2, the release of Mulan + Raya and the Last Dragon.

It means my presence will be reduced but at least I won't throw away the 7 years I spent here :)

Missed this earlier (since thread is 💀) but YAY

The 1st Frozen made $21M here. What can be expected for F2?

The ER is much, much worse now but Disney strongly grew as a brand so any prediction is tricky.

I expect it to beat Frozen 1 but not by a wide margin. Maybe $30m total?

In local currency it should be much higher.

I hope F2 total gross in Central and South America will be around $15M more than the first one.

There's no impact on the ER for now but it's too early to judge, it's bad for Brazil's economy so I cannot exclude an even worse ER in the upcoming weeks/months. That's already a disaster but the movie market really didn't need this to be worse.

Maleficent 2 is close to the end of its run and with $19.5m it's far behind the $33.2m of the first movie.

HOWEVER it is entirely because of the ER as it beats M1 in lc: M1 was the top movie of 2014 with R$73.6m!

M2 will be comfortably ahead in the end: 15-20m ahead.

Frozen is crazy popular here.

If it wasn't for the ER, we could be talking about at least 40m.

If it's crazy popular like you say it should get close to $36m (150m lc) maybe even $40m

That's a lot to ask, I hope you're right but thiso ne won't be that easy to predict.

My point was more if something is crazy popular than it has to hit 150m lc other wise it's not crazy popular 😛

But frozen should go over TS4. Who knows Brazil could do crazy nubers and it won't have much competition.
