Last week JL passed movies such as Suicide Squad (118m), Minions (120m) and the local movie My Mom is a Character 2 (124.2m, the highest-grossing local movie). This week it will pass Despicable Me 3 (125.9m). In the end this movie will be very close to Batman vs Superman (132m), a bit under or slightly higher. Not the record we could hope for but still the first or second biggest performance of the year behind Furious 8 (133m). Fullbuster
IT'S NOW DECEMBER AND IT'S TIME FOR MY USUAL PREDICTION GAME First, the conclusion of my predictions for this year : I underestimated Beauty and the Beast + Moana (and glad I was wrong I loved them both) and I slightly overestimated Justice League. For everything else I was in the right range so I'm pretty glad My main mistake was the exchange rate : I expected a real improvement but we just got stagnation.... So, now this 2018's predictions in local currency : I don't expect the exchange rate to improve, with the elections next year and the strength of the USD it's unlikely, it could even worsen. Avengers IW : R$153m Jurassic World 2 : 108m Black Panther : 78m The Incredibles 2 : 86m Solo A Star Wars Story : 50m Aquaman : 83m DEADPOOL 2 : 93m Wreck-it RALPH 2 : 80m
you'vegotmail
I will predict the national films that might possibly perform to a reasonable level. Turma da Monica - Lacos (A Live action adaption from graphic novel with the same title, it is part of the Turma da Monica franchise) O Doutrinador - Live action adaptation of a national Comic book that has found a decent degree of popularity. Only these two for now for me. There are probably lot of others but my scope of knowledge is quite limited. But most of them will fail anyway given the local industry market share is close to 15%.
