Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is getting re-released on november 26 to celebrate the movie's 20 year anniversary. Reminder that the first movie's re-release did almost R$7M in a single day.

Halloween Ends will start playing early on the 11th and 12th. They are also holding special fan events screenings on midnight of those days in some cities, those are mostly sold out already.

Thursday, Tad released at 3rd place, Amsterdam in 5th, Bodies Bodies Bodies in 6th and Suburbanos in 7th, while Woman King keep holding strong at 1st.

For september, box office reached R$104.5M and increased in over 41% in admissions compared to august. Cinema Week kickstarted a whole debate over the price of the tickets after the really strong effect it had on the mid-sized movies. The top 5 movies of the month were, in order, Orphan 2, Ticket to Paradise, Nope, Woman King and Minions 2.

10 Ticket to Paradise 430.739 -40.4% 11.910.000 693.200

Despite Deadline not sharing that yesterday, Brazil was one of the countries where Smile increased on the second weekend, don't need to say how rare that is for a movie that released in 2nd. Woman King had another super strong hold and now is pretty much locked on passing the million tickets sold. Orphan passed the 2 million tickets and is really close to enter the year's top 10. Counting both releases, Avatar have passed Top Gun Maverick. About the new releases, they went from ok to bad, Bros bombed hard. Overall the weekend increased in 7%.

Next, it releases Halloween Ends, Last Seen Alive, Bem Vinda a Quixeramobim and Faith and Fury.

On the first two days of the mid-week release, Halloween Ends sold 74k tickets, R$1.1M box office. Previously, Halloween 2017 made R$5.1M on the first weekend and Halloween Kills made R$2.4M. Ends shouldn't have trouble passing Kills, though I fear frontloading.

Box office monday-wednesday:

Tad 3 - R$3.22M (R$5.2M total)

Smile - R$2.3M (R$10.3M)

Woman King - R$2.3M (R$17.2M)

Minions 2 - R$840k (R$121M)

As you can see, Minions and Tad massively overperformed the weekend.

Box office 13 - 16 october

Movie Box Office (R$)             Change (%) Total (R$)    Admissions total (Est)
1 Halloween Ends 3.058.000 --- 4.440.000 233.180
2 Smile 2.867.000 -14.8% 13.150.000 754.920

7 Orphan: First Kill 634.000 -56.4% 27.380.000 2.130.000
8 Minions 2: Rise of Gru 445.000 -6.7% 121.520.000 6.910.000

10 Bem-Vinda a Quixeramobim 277.000 --- 277.000 15.690

On admissions, Halloween and Smile had a difference of just 4k, they are almost tied. Halloween Ends did managed to beat the second movie, however with an atrocious audience score of 2.5 (worst of the franchise) it is hard to imagine it not having bad legs. On this weekend's milestones: Woman King became movie number 17th to pass the million tickets sold this year, Orphan got into this year's top 10 (though should last little as Black Adam will kick it out soon), Tad managed to increase over last weekend and Quixeramobim pulled the best theater average this weekend.

Next weekend here comes Black Adam and if I know anything, it should hit the holdovers like a truck.

Black Adam have now earned in 2 days R$5.3M and 298k admissions, for the 4th best OD of the year so far.

Better than Morbius.

Jokes aside and for a little bit more context, that is the best DCEU opening day since Aquaman (Obviously not counting Joker and The Batman). For comparison, here is the OD for the latest DCEU movies:

- Aquaman: 331k admissions OD, R$29M weekend

- Shazam: 137k admissions OD, R$19,5M weekend

- Birds of Prey: 104k admissions OD, R$10.7M weekend

- Wonder Woman 1984: 108k admissions and R$1.9M (both for the weekend)

- The Suicide Squad: 378k admissions and R$7M (both for the weekend)

For some reason, none of the estimates seens to be including Black Adam's wednesday previews? Very weird. Anyway, best DCEU opening since Aquaman while the holdovers behaved exactly as one would expected, Black Adam had 79% of market share from the whole top 10. Smile is getting close to 1 million tickets sold, though is still not guaranteed it will reach it since there are a lot of horrors coming up. Tad passed 500k tickets. Halloween Ends is falling hard, as expected.

Next weekend releases The Invitation, Super Who and Abestalhados 2 (Fun fact, there is no Abestalhados 1, this is a "Leonard Part 6" kind of joke).

Wakanda Forever and One Pice Film Red have already opened pre-orders, both are doing great.
