Weekend estimates! To be updated...

  • TFA:  Weekend about US$5.1M, 37% decrease from previous 3-day wkn; US$20.2M total, #8 of 2015. Still on its way to US$30M+ total.
  • Peanuts: Fox's second biggest opening of 2015, US$3.1M from 1,900 screens
  • TGD: US$11.6M total. Good hold again.
  • Heart of the Sea: US$5.6M total.

I was also expecting way more, but the gross is in line with other non-English speaking countries. I think only in the UK and US it'll become the #1 movie ever.

Actual weekend numbers, lots of new openings = Alvin and the Chipmunks and Concussion did well all things considered.

Movie Industry in Mexico 2015 - Summary of Preliminary Results (CANACINE)

  • 299M tickets sold (+16.7% from 2014)
  • 13.9B gross in lc (+15.8% from 2014) --> roughly US$820M at today's ER, a decrease from 2014 because of a 30% depreciation.
  • 267 new screens for a total of 6,000
  • Average ticket price went down 0.2 cents to 46.5 lc --> about US$2.75 at today's ER.
  • Average audience per screen: 45,757.
  • Mexicans go to the pictures 2.26 times per year in average.

Presentation (in Spanish) - Some of the gross numbers are up to early December, it seems.

Huge number of tickets sold, France is around 205m sold :)

Sad for the decrease in Mexico in USD :(

Yes, in fact are good numbers. But i can´t understand why it´s so lower compared to Furious 7 or Minions? When i went to the midnight showing, and saw the mega crowded theather, i thought that this would be a phenomenon, sadly i was mistaken.
