The biggest change now is that with or without re-release Coco now is #2 in admissions. Endgame should pass 24.5M.

Not really. It has its charm and audience but WDAS animations aren't as beloved as Pixar animations. At the moment I see Frozen 2 below Toy Story 4, Lion King and Aladdin but should do $400M+

 

Actually if wasn't for Rise of Skywalker all of Disney productions this year would have a $400M/$20M USD potential.

If DISNEY wiling to push EG in mexico through cheap ticket just to let EG pass COCO in all time admission champion list, very likely they will do the same to EG globally.

Universal did the same with Minions, towards the end of its run they slashed ticket prices so it could become the #1 movie in audience, passing Avengers . The yellow critters held the crown for 2 years until Coco arrived.

Highly doubtful. I would argue its more in their interest to keep Avatar as the top grossing movie. Listen AEG is done now, they can pick up their big bags of cash and be mighty happy with the film's crazy overperformance. But there is little additional value in having AEG be the biggest of all time worldwide. Its unlikely we will see an MCU of this scale for years now, on the other hand, there is another Avatar coming down the pipes. How much better for marketing would it be to have Avatar as the biggest movie of all time when A2 is being released? Sequel to the highest grossing movie of all time is much better marketing than sequel to the 2nd highest

that wont matter if the avatar sequels dont come close to avatar 1, if so then disney will have waste their only oppoturnity

Aladdin

- Running on par with Maleficent at the same point of release, both are following similar patterns. Should beat Alice in Wonderland during weekdays and next week it’ll zoom past Dumbo and Jungle Book.

- By the end of its run should be third biggest Disney’s live-action remake behind Maleficent and Beauty and the Beast but it could go above the film starred by Emma Watson if keeps holding this well.

 

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

-Worst opening for the Monsterverse, playing 5% below first Godzilla and 18.13% behind Skull Island. Should follow a similar trajectory to Detective Pikachu and finish o/u $230M.

 

John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum

- Close to outgross previous installment by 3x. Should finish as 4^th highest Rated-C title ever only behind Logan, Passion of Christ and Fifty Shades of Grey. Hope Chapter 4 can sneak into Top 3 or 2.

 

Avengers: Endgame

-It has officially crossed 24.14M admissions which are above Coco so now it has the Triple Crown: All-time record in lc, USD and admissions.

So basically Disney took the crown of admissions from... Disney¡ Wow. That's a great feat¡¡ It was defintely a good strategy to have that promotion in order to have more admissions but it feels... hollow.

It has been a great number for Aladdin (haven't seen the movie but have heard much more good comments than bad ones)

Godzilla, I think suffered from people not liking the first one but in the end is a good monster movie, if you take away the plot and human characters, and just enjoy the special effects.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix, will not have a great number, I haven't heard too much buzz or anything for this one and people should be tired of the X-Men franchise. So I'm  thinking below 100M for both fourquels (MIB: International next weekend) so we will have to wait until Toy Story 4 for the third 200M+ Debut of the year

Yes, If it can pass 500M lc, there's a chance for 10M admissions. BATB did 11,300,000 with lower ticket prices.

 

@Carlangonz - is Aladdin's 2nd weekend the highest for a 100M+ opener, outside of the mega blockbusters? That sub 30 drop is so rare.
