They're doing just fine, nothing extraordinary but expecting huge walk-ups like Toy Story 4. 

 

What calls my attention is that they're very spread all across the weekend similar to TS4 so won't be front-loaded at least OD/OW.

FFH has a 4-Day OW and CM had a 3-Day. 

 

FFH 4-Day > CM 3-Day

I think TLK should do 600M+ lc based on Aladdin's performance. Hobbs and Shaw is another potential blockbuster, that means we could end up 2019 with two billion and seven 600M+ movies. 2018 and 2017 had three each, 2016 had two and 2015 had four.

SM:FFH opened to $13.9M (4D), about 265M lc. Within the lowest range of estimates, but with summer holidays ahead it should do fine.

Toy Story 4 passed $60M and most probably is now the #2 all-time movie in lc.

Aladdin's total is $32.3M and Annabelle 3's $12.1M.

Quite front-loaded, more than HC. May finish on the area of Aladdin and Captain Marvel ($620M-$640M).

TS4 should become the second $70M+ grosser. The most astonishing result of the year for me, more astonishing than Endgame. 

Anabelle making it well despite screen loss, we'll see how it goes next weekend with Child's Play opening.

It blows my mind that 3-Day is still behind SM3's 3-Day OW in admissions. Raimi's Spidey was like IW or EG back in the days!

Cinépolis already pulled it out of theatres but Cinemex keeps it in a few locations.

This is indeed the surprise of the season. I suspected TS4 could go as high as 1B but not to pass Coco and become the #2 movie. Wonder at which stage Disney will start releasing cheaper tickets, the average is still a remarkable 56 lc.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

- Best opening for both a Spidey title and a Sony release; beating Homecoming by 17.18% and Venom by 4.12%.

- 4^th best opening of the year below Endgame, Toy Story 4 and Captain Marvel. Aiming to become 5^th highest grosser of the year behind Endgame, Toy Story 4, Captain Marvel and Aladdin but Lion King and Mistress of Evil could kick it out.

- Should top last year’s Hotel Transylvania 3 as Sony’s biggest hit in the country and come near Iron Man 3 lifetime gross ($596M).

- Passes Coco and Infinity War as the second highest grosser ever in the country and the highest for an animation.

This is very intriguing. They didn't do it for Aladdin or Incredibles 2. 

 

The movie is been wild to track; great holds but also tough drops. So far has had better legs than I2 but needs to have crazy crazy crazy holds on weekdays to keep the pace and maybe just maybe come close to Endgame in admissions.

THE LION KING DUBBING ANNOUNCEMENT

 

The Lion King dubbing cast is been revealing since last week. They're getting back people from both the animation and musical. 

 

The announcements have been quite formal which is unusual. The last time I remember Disney was this formal for a dubbing cast announcement was for Coco. 

 

MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE NEW RECORD

 

Tomorrow the MCU shall pass $11B lc grossed by all its 23 films through its 11 years alive. It consolidates as the highest grossing franchise ever doing more than double than franchises like Fast and the Furious and almost 5x as Potterverse or the Star Wars saga.
