This news also more or less confirms @ViewerAnon's claims from a few months back about a prequel focusing on John Kramer himself being in development and set to film towards the end of this year. I'm still shocked they're using the Jigsaw writers again after both of their previous Saw entries underperformed. Greutert did Saw 6, one of the better received entries in the series, so I get hiring him.
