Predicting the Critics’ Year end lists:2022

I was super bored and anxious so I thought of this idea.

So yeah, look at that list of movies from 2021 and think about this year’s lineup of movies, year 2022, if you’d like.

I predict this line-up of 25 movies:

1. The Banshees of Inisherin
2. The Fabelmans
3. Aftersun (Charlotte Wells’ movie)
4. Happening
5. Everything Everywhere All At Once
6. Tár
7. Women Talking
8. The Northman
9. Top Gun: Maverick
10. Turning Red
11. Marcel the Shell with Shoes On
12. Pinocchio (Del Toro’s movie)
13. Babylon
14. All Quiet on the Western Front
15. RRR
16. Avatar: The Way of Water
17. Nope
18. The Woman King
19. White Noise
20. The Whale
21. Barbarian
22. The Batman
23. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
24. Good Luck to You, Leo Grande
25. Cha Cha Real Smooth

Only the movies Avatar 2, Black Panther 2, Babylon, and Del Toro’s Pinocchio have unknown critical reception at this point I guess.

A lot of these movies will get more reviews when they go into general and wide release too.

 

I will grade myself based on the first update on metacritic's list which will come in or near the first week of December of 2022.

And I will also grade myself based on the last update, which will probably be the third week of January 2023.

 

My grade will be how many out of the top 25 that I guessed will be on Metacritic's top 30.

Only like one or two lists had it for 2021. It will be mostly 2022 year for USA critics.

I missed 8 out of these 17 movies... wasn't aware of them back in October.
