I dont know if the case is similar with other south east markets tho I can definitely say that Pokemon is a  much bigger household name amongst all youngsters in asia but that did not help detective pikachu much.

That’s totally what I mean,Mairo is extremely well-know in Asia as a culture symbol but no much loyalty fans.

The problem is the seating capacity that Mario might get due to Conan 2023 ($75M+ Movie) &Tokyo Revengers ($38M+ Movie)

Conan 2023 sold all 23 Shows for Fastest Screenings at 1st hour of PS start at 18 TCs. 90%+ Cap. Some left are 1/2 seat for Disabled. I guess Mario will have capacity issue in seat sharing.

Do you think if Sony pushes Pavitr Prabhakar in the Indian marketing for Spider-Verse 2, it could substantially outgross Mario in the country?

Mario is coming out 2 weeks after Conan debuts, seating won't be an issue.

Probably best to expect less from Japan and just be pleasantly surprised if it puts up decent numbers in the end.

It don't even need to do anything for beating Mario. Spider Verse 1 itself was bigger than Mario.

No one cares about Animation in India, Mario is a flop and So will Spiderverse.

Spiderman is top Hollywood film property in India before or after Avengers franchise was a thing.

Hoping it will fill up the box office expectation people had from last 2 MCU films here

I didn’t check it but animation films generally have HUGE jumps on SAT.

 

In past we have seen 5x jumps as well. IIRC Frozen II had like 8x jump on one of SAT.
