The film description is as follows, When a group of nerdy high schoolers attempts to go to the cool kids’ New Year’s Eve party, the literal Y2K bug kicks in, and computers start running amok and go on a deadly killing spree. These unlikely kids go on an epic odyssey to stop the violent computers and save their city.

'I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream" remains the ultimate mad computer story.

Sounds like a fun idea, but would have been better if they dropped the whole Y2K angle, since that is a prime exaomple of media creating a mass hysteria; evenif the bug had kicked in it would not have resulted in machines going mad. What would have happened is that on Jan 2 a lot of finiancial software would have been messed up.

The cast and the poster are great!

I’m not sold on the film though. Mixed reviews out of a festival that would’ve been the target audience is a big red flag.

I've never found A24's attempts to push ~young horror movies (think Bodies Bodies Bodies) very interesting.

I like Rachel and Julian - I'm not compelled to see this, but my mind is open to being changed.

Of course as far as reality goes, this is sheer nonsense. Even if the bug has kicked in, the stuff you see in the trailer would not have happened.

I think if they would have it about a computer bug a left out the Y2K hysteria complelty would have been a better move.
