'Barbie' breaks records in some UAE cinemas; thousands of tickets sold on day 1 of screening

Barbie has been released in the UAE, with thousands of tickets sold and many shows fully booked. According to some theatres, the movie has been breaking records.

“We’ve seen an unprecedented surge in advance ticket purchases, prompting us to add extra showtimes to accommodate the high demand, leading to sold-out screenings,” said Murray Rea, Director of Operations at Roxy Cinemas. “We have showtimes scheduled every 30 minutes.”

“The film has broken all records including Oppenheimer, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In light of this, we expect Barbie to open to full houses this weekend and look forward to hosting guests at our many screenings across all locations,” he said.

Without getting political, this says a lot.
