Nolan is the undisputed box office God. Some of figures are mind-blowing for a 3 hour biopic.

The biggest non-superhero Nolan opening weekend in 55 markets, that is just jaw-dropping, until you hear this:

The biggest opening day for a Nolan film in 33 markets. Let that sink in, that's beating all the Batman films in 33 countries.

Nolan could open Michael Caine reading a phone book for 3 hours in IMAX and it would open 100m worldwide.

As I always say, Nolan and Cameron are only two to guarantee $500M WW.

Just that Cameron make commercial films while Nolan goes a bit off beat. Inception today will be close to $1.5B. Well, with 2019 China and Korea.

I think people forget the way IMAX was this big today largely thanks to JC, his avatar made $250m+ in IMAX format alone back in 2009. That is when he send a shock wave to the industry to this day.

Nope. It started with TDK. Cameron did incredible for 3D. You can't rely on him as much as you can on Nolan, because he only made two films this century.

Yes. TDK did it with just 50 imax screens and played for ever to hit 50m+ domestic. Imax count increased dramatically in next few years. Avatar also benefited by $3 surcharge everywhere including Imax.

Word spreading that film comes with 3 hours of free air conditioning!“

Not a concern in Australia atm to be fair.

But you did realise that two movies outgross the entire Nolan's filmography in this century right?

This is beating TGM's $110m IMAX format gross.

At least Nolan has a filmography in this century. If he were to make Batman films forever as obsessively as Cameron is with AVATAR than it wouldn't be the case. Both are geniuses on their own right and pushing the boundaries of filmmaking in a unique way, which is just amazing. Both are to be celebrated.
