THE LITTLE MERMAID WEEKEND THREAD

How did tracking get this so wrong? For a while, $12-$13 million looked solid.

it did taper off instead of accelerating in the final week. Happens as Disney LA movies are fan driven. But I have retiterated that more than thursday, walkups today will make or break its march towards 100m 3 day weekend. Let us see how it goes.

Another aspect is there are pockets its underperforming rather than universally doing well everywhere. Which is also not a surprise.

A comment filled with personal attacks against her, racist language, complaining about racebending or “blackwashing”, whining about “woke culture”, all of that.

$10.3m from Disney, includes $850K from Wed

Pretty good, especially since it's unlikely to be frontloaded (being a remake and all). The $116M 4-day of Aladdin '19 seems like a good target.

It will need good legs, since the The Little Mermaid budget is bigger than Aladdin.
