Capacity is not an issue. Theater counts are irrelevant metric anyway. It has adequate shows in the MTCs I have checked. Its about if the fans want to see this in big screen. Let us see how things go this weekend.

I dont have any update for now. You have to wait and see. its all about walkups. Pace so far after initial rush has been anemic.

the big problem with gauging Wonka's IM is that there really won't be any good comps from the same timeframe. 2021 and 2022 december was only big tentpoles (NWH and Avatar) or animation (PIB and Sing 2) which Wonka doesn't fit into nicely. You'd have to go back to 2019 to Jumanji to find a similar type of movie, but presale trends are definitely too varied to compare.

 

My point might be rendered moot if the proximity to the holidays ends up not mattering and OW plays out how it would in any other non-summer month. D&D would've been a really good comp if not for the EA it had.

Did unlimited subscribers at AMC/Regal get Beyonce tickets included in subs?  If so, that would explain a lot (Cinemark does not include them, even in its one a month)...

More likely to get 10x from a Dec 22 opener, since Dec 24 is always a very low BO day, and this year, it's opening Sunday.

 

Migration would be the better bet.

I am not convinced they are subs. It sold most of its tickets in 1st few days of presales and that is too early for subs to come in considering how many movies have released during that time period. Plus its core audience is not the subs type.
