Cineplex Cinemas in Vaughan, Ontario Canada is definitely going to have one of the top 3 PTA for Animal this weekend.

Just tonight, between 8:30pm and 12:30am it has 14 near sold out showings, all in 150+ seat screens. I almost didn’t believe it. They keep adding shows onto the night.

They are already adding midnight shows for tomorrow too. Incredible.
I wish I knew more about the area/theatre so I could give an explanation to everyone.

I haven't been paying attention to this at all, but it's selling well everywhere in the region, nothing with the same showtime allocation

The South Asian population here explains tjat to some degree, but, Vaughan isn't exactly the centre of that (but it's not far off from Brampton, which is).

There must have been someone in the Vaughan location that saw what was happening here. But, there's big Bollywood films released all the time here. I don't think I've seen this.

So our true Thursday estimates (around 1M) for Godzilla was pretty ok, I guess 🙂.

Silent Night did even slightly worse than expected...but it was also mentioned here that its advertisement was non-existent.

And the previews for Renaissance are in line with expectations ( @TheFlatLannister, @Porthos, @keysersoze123, @abracadabra1998...).

So overall, a quite good job again 😉.

Insane number for the christmas day. Also it just falls off the cliff on 26th. Look at the pace over past 8 days for both the days. I think it hits double digit on christmas and then a big drop. Of course ATP is low as it does not seem to have PLF.

it seems unlikely a movie like that could fall of a cliff, especially during holidays, barring toxic WOM.

No PLF and a lot of Christmas Day matinee tickets, very low ATP for sure

That is 11.23x what Wish was standing at for pure TUE at T-24, and their ATPs are pretty similar with all the discounts

That Wish comp spits out a busted $20.4M for Christmas Day, and while I don't think it goes that high, maybe like $14-17M? and around $120-140M DOM final?

Nah. Its ATP is really low without PLF plus it will over index in large markets. low double digits is what i see.

Poor Things confirmed for wide release on 12/22 (assuming that means at least a couple hundred theaters):

So this is what the wide release schedule for Christmas weekend looks like:

Aquaman 2

Migration

The Color Purple

The Iron Claw

Ferrari

Poor Things

Anyone But You

The Boys in the Boat

American Fiction

Hello, guys, I'm new here so I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread, but I've been wondering about some future concert film releases. AMC already said they aren't stopping with Taylor and Beyoncé, so I think a very possible candidate for the near future is Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball film. She revealed she was working on its edit back in June and it still haven't been officially announced.

Do you guys think there's any quiet weekend in January or February where this release could fit? From March onwards it will all be about Dune 2, and Joker: Folie à Deux promo could possibly start around that date too (I don't think Lady Gaga/her team would want to clash these two projects), so I think that if it's indeed getting a theatrical release, it will be in either January or February. What do you guys think?

I think 5-10 years ago maybe.
But Lady Gaga isn’t at the same star wattage she used to be. If Beyoncé is pulling in just around 20 million, I can’t see people paying $20/ticket for Gaga. I think that one is better left for Streaming.
