Nothing special. No One cares about pre Sales numbers expect for box office forums lol. And doesn't have any cost to open that 20 days before, 30 or 40 days. Like 100% free.

Not every movie has a preview with the cast doing interviews and Red carpet 50 days before. It happened for this so why they shouldn't open the previews even if for only 48 hours you get already a little bit of buzz from these events and related news?

Could not have said it better. The GA/casuals who this movie will appeal mostly to don't give a shit about this place or know it exists.

so far there are times for GxK popping up in theaters near me but nothing on sale yet, also surprised this is getting 3D showings as well

It's gone up at MTC4 in Canada.

It's getting a lot, but not all of the IMAX screens.

People are still jumping on Dune IMAX tickets as soon as showtimes open. I think the demand will still be there in a couple of weeks for it, but it's both through WB, so they probably know what they're giving up.

The most popular IMAX screens in the area seem to not be included though, so those will likely stay with Dune.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

Thursday Previews

T-9

Tickets Sold: 220 (+47 since T-14)

Growth: 27%

% PLF: 43%

5 theaters/28 showtimes

Comps:

(1.497x) of Dune 2 $13.92 Million

(1.605x) of Aquaman 2 $7.22 Million

COMPS AVG - $10.57 Million

Yep, really solid sales still. Far ahead of Dune 2 and Aquaman 2, though Aquaman over-indexed in my area and Dune under, so of course those numbers are flexible. Should do fairly well though when all is said and done. $40M+ opening might be possible.

That Dune 2 comp HOLY S***

Do you have EA numbers for the Fall Guy?

FYI even with Zilla, Dune is keeping the biggest Imax screens like Lincoln Sq/Metreon etc. Makes sense considering they are near full even during weekdays. FYI this is 3PM today and its not spring break in NYC region now.

I've set my sheets up to track EA shows separately for Fall Guy, but at this stage, when comparing against comps that don't have EA shows, it probably makes sense to combine it with previews. At 50 days in advance, this is all pulling from the same demand pool. Especially since it seems so widespread. I can't recall an EA show being in so many theatres. We can probably separate it out once we get inside a certain timeframe but at this stage, it feels pretty one and the same.

I didn't have much regardless, so its not really making an impact, but the thought popped into my head this morning.

Good start for Zilla. Sold 136 seats at MiniTC2 in first 3 hours or so. I am hoping for 500+ by EOD, not sure if possible but it should.

MTC1 is at 9509/550189 188254.77 2862 shows. I am thinking high teens for OD presales. I think its opening > 50m OW unless PS collapses which is unlikely.

I think the best comp for the movie is Transformers 6 even if he had the advantage to have EA

I think 55-60M is possible

T:ROTB was extremely walk up heavy. It's a possible outcome, but it's probably on the optimistic end.

There's no reason why this wouldn't be either. Monster flicks are generally more walk-up heavy.

Yes, it should be a comp, but it's on the upper end of scenarios.

It was also June, which had more kids off (although Easter weekend is a good equalizer). It's just a comp that has to be used with caution because it was a really late growth curve.

My expectations for GodzillaxKongs presales are a strong start (fan rush), a kind of mediocre/slow lead-up to its final days of presales, a late surge and finally big walk-ups to save its Opening Weekend after the slow period of presales made many of us here very pessimistic about it.
