filmlover Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 The Bear wins Comedy Ensemble. BTW this ceremony has already proven so many meme-worthy moments. Meryl accidentally nearly tripping over the microphone before having Anne and Emily say her lines from The Devil Wears Prada to her. Billie signing Melissa's face to not ruin her dress. Pedro admitting he's drunk while accepting his award. Quote

Get ready for when it wins everything again next year because the Comedy categories are going to be barren, at least for the Emmys (which will feel the impact of the strikes). There's going to be a lot of filler nominees across the Drama categories too. Unless they apply to the Drama category, now that Succession is over. Quote

Season 2 has been cleaning up the Comedy categories during the winter awards so they won't give up being handed their awards on a silver platter again. What is winning Drama this September, I have no idea. The final season of The Crown that no one likes lol? Edited February 25 by filmlover Quote

MysteryMovieMogul Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I told y'all. Stone isn't going to win the Oscar. She never had a chance. Quote
filmlover Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 (edited) TBH I think if Stone loses despite winning everything else it'll be because she's already an Oscar winner from just seven years ago and Poor Things not being undeniable enough to secure a second trophy so soon. redfirebird2008 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Huge night for Cillian Murphy & Lily Gladstone. Another big night for Oppenheimer in general. Quote

It feels like Blanchett had more people claiming her performance was "undeniable" and "an all-timer" this time last year (+ she won the Drama Globe, Critics Choice, and BAFTA - basically the same major awards Emma has) than there are for Stone here and she still lost. Stone's still the frontrunner, but a highly vulnerable one clearly. It's not like anyone is going to go "poor thing" (lol) over somebody who already has an Oscar anyway. Quote
