Why is Iron Man 3 hated? Watched it a couple hours ago and it's fucking AWESOME!!

If you check the archives, you'll see that many of us loved the movie when it released on this forum. All that hate for the twist is from fanboys.

Hey I just realized, No Way Home @ $804.7M has a pretty good shot at winning the 2020s domestically. I mean, that much is really hard, even like 220*3.6 doesn't pass it.

Avatar 3 should do more than that based off inflation alone.

The twist is the only good about the movie imo. Rest of it is painfully mediocre . One of few films from that saga I hate.

pros of Iron Man 3 aside from the twist: the attack on Tony's mansion

The suit and glove battle and Tony having to be creative without his suit before that.

The mid air save over the water

The cons are mainly the ending battle with all the drone suits and the kid being kinda annoying. Oh and Killian being kinda meh as a villain. But for the most part the movie works and Shane Black delivers the rare MCU film with a director driven voice.

Hot Take: For me, Multiverse of Madness is another "why do people hate this?" movie.

And I called IM3 hated because yeah in general it feels like people consider it mid and it has a really low Letterboxd rating

Can somebody explain to me why Across the Spider-Verse ($100M) had such a lower marketing budget than Mario ($150M) even though they have the same production budget ($100M)? WTF. Imagine how much it could've made more with better marketing like Mario.

Universal seems to have higher marketing (or at very least TV ad spending) budgets across the board. I remember a random deadline article claiming that's due to how NBCUniversal aggressively leverages corporate synergies with network and cable spending (so ultimately a lot of this spending may be staying in house).

So we know more about Espositos character:

He's an "agent of chaos" so probably a villain

They are in Captain America 4, possibly added during reshoots

That may not be their first appearance

They aren't Doom, Osborn, or Magneto.

As for the series part it's still hard to tell where he'd be that he'd show up again.

I'll be surprised if this ever leads to anywhere. The most I can see is him possibly being Kang in a one-off appearance in order to finally end his story and move on. But even that feels like a stretch to me. Unless they miraculously fix their image within the next decade, I don't see these big names wanting to direct any Marvel movies anytime soon.

I'm surprised you assume acting and not like producing or writing

The former would take a lot less effort than the latter. He could also take the easy, one-off franchise paycheck here, and proceed to use that to fund his future movies.

I don’t think Feige would let Peele make a Peele movie. I also don’t buy that’s it’s true because of the InSneider

Well most recently he got the X-Men writer correct. When he's making stuff up usually its shit like "this actor/director hard to work with because they're a diva" (and it's almost always a POC/woman), but he's not total bullshit. He's just an asshole.

This basically would shock nobody given how Deadpool seems to be going.

Imagine though, coming into SDCC weekend with this news hot off of Deadpools likely opening weekend record?

Waldron writing and Levy directing - sigh

Idk where this hate of Waldron came from considering Loki and Doctor Strange were well received. Doctor Strangest fan backlash mostly comes from Wanda stans who didny realize her actions in WandaVision were not really meant to come across as heroic and people who wanted it to be the origin of the MCU X-Men.

But yeah Levy seems like a very reasonable choice, and this is a massive vote of confidence in Deadpool and Wolverine that they're already considering him for it.
