Valonqar
That sounds right. I think Adapted is the only one that could go a different way. Lot at Supporting winners being DJR and RDJ.

It definitely comes across as what will be seen in the eyes of many as their version of the Best Ensemble award at SAG. This is the first new category they've introduced since Best Animated Feature in 2001. They've been adamant about the show ending on time recently (hence why they've moved the start time up an hour), but more categories doesn't exactly seem like the solution to that issue. Now they have a solid 24 categories to get through again (just a few years after getting rid of one of the Sound categories).
titanic2187
So which branch is responsible for this new category? Casting director for sure but how about actor/actress branch? Also, I never understand just what is “best casting”. I am also quite disappointed that it was not voice performance or stunt work got recognized this round. I am also quite disappointed that it was not voice performance or stunt work got recognized this round. Per Variety, AMPAS has had a Casting Directors Branch since 2013 and it has about 160 members now. I think awarding voice work can get into a gray area because part of the response to those characters is more about the animation/VFX. Sometimes it's more than one person doing the voice or motion capture for a character, like with Rocket Raccoon. The rules could clear up the nomination parameters I guess. Barbie is more likely to win this than Oppie which profited from split category. It's between Barbie and Poor Things. Ditto in Costume.
redfirebird2008
Nolan won Directors Guild, which has led to a Best Director Oscar 90% of the time in 75 years. Hopefully Nolan is not in the 10% group, lol
BoxOfficeFangrl
The Oscars luncheon was held yesterday, complete with the class photo of the nominees. Reports vary on which stars got the most applause though it seems the biggest sensation was the dog from Anatomy of a Fall.

filmlover
BAFTA Awards are on Sunday followed by the SAG Awards next Saturday. Since we're three weeks away from the ceremony we should be getting performer/presenter news starting by the middle of the week at the latest. titanic2187
Oppenheimer leading BAFTA win with seven including best film, followed by Poor things at five. -Aside from best actor (Paul vs Murphy), the rest of the three acting race are kind of over. -Barbie officially lose its frontrunner status for production design to poor things -American fiction is the frontrunner for adapted screenplay now. It won this category without being a best film nominee. -Anatomy of fall is the film to beat at best original screenplay. I don’t think holdovers is taking this now since it hasn’t been wining. -Sound category got interesting as ZOI surprise win here. -VFX is still very up in the air as BAFTA pick PT as winner which wasn’t even nominated at the Oscar.
