Box Office Pro: Internationally the film brought in $40.6M and fended off competition from IF to remain the #1 non-local film in all major international markets, including Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, France, Australia, China, Korea, Japan, Brazil and Mexico. Biggest territory is easily China at $20.4M cume, followed by France ($13.8M), Mexico ($12M), and UK ($10M). International cume is $136.3M, while global cume stands at $237.5M. KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is holding very well overseas.

Looking at the Friday/Saturday/Sunday frame, the international hold is just 35% off last weekend’s opening (excluding China). On a similar basis, KPA showed significantly better staying power than Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (-41%), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (-43%) and War for the Planet of the Apes (-51%).

Notably sticky markets were Brazil (-21%), UK (-23%), Germany (-26%), Australia (-32%), Italy (-33%), Korea (-33%) and Spain (-36%). This Wes Ball-directed installment is already the highest grossing film of the franchise in Bulgaria, Turkey and Colombia. This frame it remained the top non-local title in all major European and Asian markets. It’s the overall No. 1 still in Latin America.

According to Mojo, total up to Sunday in Germany was $5,147,940, so unlikely it was in the Top 5 by Tuesday.

Strange it did so poorly there, especially when compared to France.

I'm surprised it won't hit $300m OS. At the rate it's going, it'll likely finish at around $230m. Results were respectable enough that it'll get a sequel. It'll make bank once it hits streaming.
